WePad Tablet Pricing and Launch Details

We first mentioned the WePad a few weeks ago and from what we saw, we were quite impressed at the alleged specifications. The whole WePad device seems to revolve around doing things that the iPad cannot do. Features such as a camera have been included allowing for video calls to be made. An SD card slot has been included along with USB and the ability to multitask.

The WePad Tablet runs the Android operating system from Google [GOOG] and has access to the Android Marketplace to download applications.

Overall it looks quite impressive and we hope that the CPU and graphics chip are up to scratch making it run smoothly. Update: It has an Intel Atom N450 CPU and no NVIDIA although it does support full HD, so perhaps another quicker than Intel chip.

From what we hear there are a couple of versions with one being WiFi only costing ‚¬449. This will have 16GB of RAM. [Read more…]

As previously mentioned, the operating system running on the Gemini will be provided by Google [GOOG], ie, the Android OS although it isn’t clear right now which version. We hope for at least 2.0 or even 2.1, but have seen some devices still running 1.6, so we’ll update when we find that information out. [Read more…]

Find my iPad App Launching on MobileMe

MobileMe is an application available for Apple [AAPL] that allows various functions to be performed such as syncing email, calendars and other information across devices to make sure all stays in sync. One of the features is called Find My iPhone which allows you to track the location of your iPhone when lost. The software remotely activates the GPS and transmits details to you so you can track it down. If you think you have no hope of finding your phone you can also perform a remote wipe ensuring that your data is not found by others.

Find My iPad is now launching on the MobileMe service which allows you to do exactly the same as a lost iPhone… track it down or remote wipe it.

Things to note with the iPad version is that the wireless version doesn’t have a GPS built in, and to find out where your iPad is, it will need to be connected successfully to a wireless network. Due to working out locations based on wireless networking, it will be nowhere near the accuracy of a GPS enabled device, so really the Wi-Fi+3G Apple iPad is really what you want here thanks to it’s built in GPS and 3G connectivity. We are finally seeing some Canon EOS T2i reviews in full depth rather than a few comparisons between two cameras etc….

They say it is built well (but not quite as well built as the Canon EOS 7D) and sum it up by saying “As far as we are concerned, we have found the Canon EOS 550D / Rebel T2i to be a convincing, well-put-together product that easily earns a Highly Recommended rating.” [Read more…]
