HP Veer webOS Smartphone Announced – Tiny with 2.6 Inch Display

HP announced the HP Veer along side the HP Pre 3 and the HP TouchPad last night. The HP Veer is the smallest device announced and comes with a 2.6 inch screen that has a resolution of 320 x 500.

On the back is a 5 megapixel camera. Other features include Wireless and Bluetooth for connectivity. For storage, it has an 8GB capacity (6.5GB available space). The small smartphone is compatible with the HP Touchstone charger. It also has GPS built in. [Read more…]

HP Pre 3 Announced

HP made a number of announcements last night. The next of those after the HP TouchPad is the HP Pre 3. The HP Pre 3 is a follow on from the Palm Pre 2 with the new HP branding.

The HP Pre 3 has a slide down QWERTY keyboard and uses the same form factor as previous versions when under the Palm brand. It has a 3.6 inch screen that is capable of showing 800 x 480 pixels. This is a step up in terms of resolution from the previous versions.

On the back, a 5 megapixel camera can be found. There’s a camera on the front as well allowing video calls to be made between other Pre users as well as TouchPad users. [Read more…]

Verizon iPhone Could Require Modified Apps – We Don’t Think So

The Verizon iPhone wasn’t expected till February 10 although some devices already started to arrive to customers as early as yesterday. Along with that early arrival, some very interesting information has been found out about apps for the Verizon iPhone. What ZDNet found out was that some apps might require some changes to be compatible with the new iPhone 4 on Verizon. The difference isn’t due to changes with the telco, but instead, it appears that differences with the CDMA chip inside has caused a problem (or has it?).

The first app that needed to be modified was the Telenav Navigator app. The company who create it has not specifically said what hardware caused the change to be made, but ZDNet speculates that it’s the GSM to CDMA switch. When looking in to this more though, it’s nothing at all to do with the hardware of the device. [Read more…]

Samsung Galaxy S 2 Shows Up in Promo Video

Samsung has released a video that teases the Samsung Galaxy S 2. In the embedded video below, Samsung refer to the device as the Next Galaxy S and seem to show a rendering of what looks to be a very slim device.

What we expect from the Galaxy S 2 is that it’ll run the Android 2.3 operating system as well as have a faster processor. The original Galaxy S was a fantastic device and despite a few GPS issues, it was a good device. It could shift millions of triangles per second making it one of the most powerful smartphones of 2010. [Read more…]

More Facebook Phone Rumors Revealed

Although the rumors of a Facebook Phone have been denied in the past, we now hear more rumors of the device.

BGR received a tip recently that hinted at the device still being designed. Some of the features to be made available could include location aware coupons, always on GPS, cloud-based storage and a news-ticker style inbox where emails, updates and everything else is put in to a single feed on the home screen. Vizio Tablet and Phone Details Revealed

Earlier today we mentioned that a Vizio tablet and phone were spotted. Just a few hours ago, the details were not available, but now Vizio has formally announced the devices.

The Vizio Tablet has an 8 inch screen (as previously known) and uses capacitive touch. 3 speakers are built in to the tablet. The tablet also has a front facing video camera.

The phone has a 4 inch display that is also capacitive touch. On the back is a 5 megapixel camera as well as a front facing camera. [Read more…]

NikeWoman Training Club for iPhone Updated

Nike has launched a number of apps for iOS based devices, more specifically for the iPhone and iPod touch. These include Nike+ GPS, Nike BOOM as well as a number of Football apps. The latest is the NikeWoman Training Club app that acts as a personal trainer for users.

The app size is a healthy 655MB in size which is due to a number of training videos that are included in the app which assist you in exercising correctly. [Read more…]

Samsung Epic 4G Android 2.2 Update Release Date is Soon

Good news is in store for owners of the Samsung Epic 4G. It looks like an Android 2.2 update is heading your way on December 26.

Fujitsu T580 Tablet PC Now Available

Fujitsu has launched the T580 Tablet PC recently. The tablet was previously marketed as a slate-beater device.

Features of the Fujitsu Tablet include a 10 inch screen that has a 1366 x 768 pixel resolution. The display is backlit by LED and uses a dual-digitiser that works capacitive with your fingers or with an active pen that is provided. Up to four points of contact can be made with the tablet PC. Droid Incredible Android 2.3 Update Arrives Unofficially

The HTC Droid Incredible Android 2.3 update is arriving… unofficially. The update arrives thanks to the guys over at XDA Developers again, who managed to get a build of Android 2.3 Gingerbread working on the smartphone.

Since the initial launch of Android 2.3 for the Incredible on December 8, the team has managed to create three more versions with each of them ironing out the bugs to make it run that little bit better. [Read more…]
