LG B Android Smartphone Spotted – Super Slim and Bright

Yesterday, we mentioned the details of the LG Optimus 2X. This will be just one of several phones launching by LG in the next year though.

Phandroid managed to get hold of some details of a smartphone code-named the LG B.

As can be seen in the screenshot below, the LG B (sat in the middle), has a very bright display. The phone on the left is the iPhone 4 and the one on the right is a Samsung Galaxy S. Each of those devices are known to have the best screens available at the moment. [Read more…]

iPad 2 Front and Rear Cameras Hinted at Again

The iPad 2 rumors keep flowing in before its estimated release date. This time we hear more about the iPad 2 camera, or cameras as we learn. Certain sources are claiming that dual cameras will be included in the iPad 2 and that production will go ahead as expected in the first quarter of 2011.

Google Chrome OS Netbook – The Cr-48 Announced

Google [GOOG] has announced the first official Chrome OS netbook. The new Chrome netbook is to be called the Cr-48 and will be launching as part of a Pilot program in limited numbers prior to the official launch in 2011.

The Google Cr-48 is only available to a select amount of users which includes those who took part in a survey on Facebook, those who register their interest who are US based (these might get one) and all those that attended the Chrome OS event last night. [Read more…]

Canon 4K Camera Breaks DSLR Mold

Canon has unveiled a design of a new camera. This particular camera has a 4K sensor capable of capturing video at 60 frames per second with a resolution of 7680 x 4320. However, don’t get excited yet as Canon won’t actually be launching this camera as it’s just used as a proof of concept.

What we like about the Canon 4k is its design that breaks away from the traditional SLR and DSLR mold that has been used for so many years. This camera looks more sleek and could be the way cameras move in the future. [Read more…]

Google Android 2.3 Confirmed as Gingerbread

XDA-Developers has managed to confirm that the next version of Android will be Android 2.3 and not 3.0. The 2.3 update is also known as Gingerbread.

The information comes from some pictures captured of the Google Nexus S. Android 2.3 was seen to be running on the device with the about screen showing Android version 2.3 along with the Kernal information, Model Number and others information normally found on that screen. [Read more…]

Motorola Olympus Tegra 2 Smartphone Pics Emerge

The photo below shows what could be the Motorola Olympus Tegra 2 smartphone. It was sent around the tech blogs recently and the pictures show a smartphone that has a smooth front panel, large screen and a possible front facing camera.

Although it cannot be confirmed as the Olympus, if we go with the thought that it is then from what we understand it will have Bluetooth 2.1+EDR and dual band 802.11a/b/g/n WiFi. [Read more…]

Viewsonic ViewPad 7 & 10 Release Dates Revealed

ViewSonic has released details of the US launch of the ViewPad 7 and 10 models. ViewSonic confirmed that the 7 inch model will launch in the forth quarter of this year with a price tag of $479 while the larger 10 inch model will arrive early next year with a price tag of $629.

Each of the ViewSonic tablets is slightly different. The larger of the two devices is actually a dual booting machine that runs both Windows 7 Home Premium and Google Android 1.6. When switching it on you get to choose which OS boots up. For times when you quickly need to check email, you can boot in to Android and quickly grab those. Novatech is launching a new tablet called the nTablet. One of the main differences with this tablet is that it runs both tghe Google Android operating system as well as Windows 7.

11.6 Inch MacBook Air Teardown

Just a few days ago, Apple [AAPL] announced the new MacBook Air. Two new models were announced with the smaller one having an 11.6 inch screen. iFixit has done the usual and torn it apart to see whats exactly inside and let us know how easy it is to service the new laptop. Bad news is that its almost all propriety and therefore, difficult to put standard parts in to fix things or customise it.

Some highlights mentioned by iFixit include the scrapping of the IR sensor and sleep LED. These have been replaced by a USB 2.0 port on the right edge. Propriety 5-point security Torx screws are used to open it up although after that its all standard screws. [Read more…]
