Take A Look Inside the iPad 2

The iPad 2 went on sale yesterday in the US and as usual, iFixit was able to grab one and take it apart to see what the inside of it looks like. There are a number of notable differences in the internal design such as the way the glass is held on and how the insides are organized.

Due to the tapered edges, the iPad 2 screen is held on with plenty of glue. The previous model was held on by tabs. Removing the screen is made quite difficult on the new model due to the amounts of glue used. [Read more…]

Motorola Xoom Tablet Will Not Include Flash Support at Launch

Verizon has added a dedicated page to its site showing the Motorola Xoom along with the release date of February 24.

The screen shot above shows a few of the already known specs but also hints that Adobe Flash will not be available on the tablet at launch. The reason for this is believed to be because of Motorola waiting for Adobe Flash 10.2 to be launched for Android 3.0 Honeycomb. Although for some this might cause a problem, the release date is suggested as Spring 2011, so essentially, it wont be that far away till it is made available. [Read more…]

HTC Revolver Android 3.0 Smartphone Leaked

Although Android 3.0 was designed for the tablet, Google has commented that it isn’t restricted to tablets only and that other form factors will also be able to use it.

Although the picture might of course be fake, ie: the confidential plastered all over it doesn’t make it look any more “secretive”, if true, it will have some fairly decent specs inline with what we are seeing appear from HTC at the moment. [Read more…]

LG Optimus 3D Made Official

The LG Optimus 3D has also been made official today. This new smartphone is unique in that it has dual-cameras on the back as well as a glasses free 3D screen. The 3D effect works by using a parallax barrier in a similar way to how the Nintendo 3DS screen works. What this does is splits the image in two and sends different details to each eye which in turn, makes the images pop out of the screen when used at a certain distance from your eyes.

Inside the LG Optimus 3D is a dual core 1GHz TI OMAP 4 processor. The 3D screen on the front measures 4.3 inches and is in a WVGA resolution. The parallax barrier can be switched off for times when it isn’t needed to be used. LG has also customized the menus on this device to give a 3D effect. Engadget has a short hands on with the device although you wont see the 3D effect of course. [Read more…]
