GPush brings Push GMail to iPhone

GPushGMail users currently cannot have their email pushed to the iPhone. According to TechCrunch, that is about to change (hopefully). I add the hopefully because the software to do this, named GPush, has not been approved by Apple as of yet. is now available for download at the app store.

The GPush application is very simple for the user and all the user has to do is enter their GMail username and password. Once that is complete then they never really need to look at the 99 cent application again (unless wanting to log in as a different GMail user). [Read more…]

Windows Mobile Version HTC G2

NVIDIA to Launch Tegra based Netbook

nvidia-tegraNVIDIA are launching a netbook that will support the new Tegra chip. The Tegra chip so far has only been used in a Zune HD player, so making a move to a netbook will be an interesting step.

The Tegra chip is basically an all-in-one chip that integrates CPU, GPU, northbridge and southbridge on to the 1 chip as well as primary memory functionality. This integration supports a 720p resolution which provides HD video for the netbook. [Read more…]

iPhone App allows Barcode Scanning

When the item is found in a database it then pulls product prices to let you know where you can find it the cheapest. iPhones now have a similar program available which allows you to scan barcodes of products and search a database to find the best prices. Verizon to get Samsung Alias 2

samsung-alias-2Verizon have announced that they have launched the Samsung Alias 2. The Alias 2 is a dual hinged clamshell phone which has a unique keyboard that is actually E-Ink. The keyboard is QWERTY and with each key using E-Ink it can quickly transform in to a different layout. The overall effect is actually quite good and because e-ink doesn’t require much power to work (ie, only when changing the state) it doesn’t provide any major impact to the phones battery life. Nokia Ovi Store to get 20000 Apps

nokia-ovi-storeSeveral phone manufacturers are following Apple in creating their own app stores for their range of mobile phones. Windows Mobile, Palm and Android all have app stores. Nokia have create Ovi to follow and when open in late spring it will be the home to 20000 applications when launched. 20K applications is far greater when Android and Apple first launched their stores with just a few applications.

The store will open in time for when the Nokia N97 launches in July. Included in the app store there will be a large variety of applications which include general apps, short videos, games and more. Location based services powered by the built in GPS unit on a phone will allow you to filter down to things you need for local use. [Read more…]
