HTC has announced a new tablet device called the HTC Flyer. The Flyer has a 7 inch touchscreen that is also compatible with stylus input. It runs Android 2.4 which is an update to Gingerbread, but still called Gingerbread that brings Android 3.0 Honeycomb elements to the backend.
The tablet is also the first ever tablet that runs the HTC Sense UI. The stylus uses an active digitizer that makes it compatible with the capacitive touchscreen. By including this, they allow for those who want to use a tablet to scribble notes on with a pen rather than finger. [Read more…]

Yesterday saw the official unveiling of Android 3.0 Honeycomb. This new version of Android 3.0 has been designed for tablet computers although we heard recently that it isn’t restricted to just tablets.
After a few years of waiting, Google has now launched a web store for the Android Market. The new webstore allows Android phone users to browse around various apps and click a button to install them on their Android smartphone or tablet.
Earlier today we posted that Android 3.0 Honeycomb had some hints in the SDK that it would work on smartphone sized devices as well. This was found, thanks to the emulator that allowed the resolution to be set at a smartphone size rather than a large tablet size.
We mentioned yesterday that Android 3.0 was ported over to a rooted Nook Color. We hear today that the Android 3.0 download is now available.
