ViewSonic has announced that it will be releasing the ViewPad 7e Android tablet at the end of this month. When launched, it will cost $200.
The technical specs show it has a 7 inch capacitive touchscreen. It runs a 1GHz ARM A8 processor and has 4GB of storage built in. A microSD card slot is included to further boost the amount of data you can save.
TouchFire is an iPad attachment that aims to make typing on your iPad feel like typing on a real keyboard. It attaches over the top of the landscape keyboard on either the original iPad or the iPad 2 and allows typists to feel where the keys are with the result of making it easier to type quickly.
The co-founder of Siri has left Apple [AAPL] from what we hear today. The departure from the company has been on the cards for a while and according to a report it seems that it was an amicable move.
A few weeks ago we wrote that TomTom was about to make TomTom for the iPhone in to an iPad compatible app. This update has now arrived and brings with it support for both the iPhone and iPad in a single app.
As TomTom has decided not to charge again for the iPad version of the app, this also means that any in-app purchases you have made on the iPhone version can also be carried over to the iPad version.
The iPhone 4S launched last week and within just a few days, 4 million of them were sold. As usual, iSuppli has decided to take a look at what components are used and then estimate the cost of building each device. The cost for each 16GB model was estimated to be $188 although this doesn’t include the build cost of $8 per item.
Next week we should see the first Nokia Windows Phone smartphones unveiled. The picture below is believed to be one of them which carries the name of Nokia Sabre.
Google [GOOG] has announced its next version of Android – Ice Cream Sandwich. The new Android 4.0 brings a number of new features to the OS which includes the ability to unlock the device by recognising your face on to an enhanced data management system and on to video calling.
Google [GOOG] has officially announced that there are now 190 million Android smartphones. This number also accounts for $2.25bn in extra ad revenue for Google.
Back in July Google also made an announcement but that time there were 130 million devices active which means there’s been 60 million more added since then.
When the iPhone 4S was announced last week one of the highlights was Siri which acts as a personal assistant that you control with your voice. Although it sounds great I couldn’t help but think it could/would also make you look like a bit of a geek if using it when anyone else is around.
