Sharp W-ZERO3 Smartphone

Another beauty from Sharp. The W-ZERO3 smartphone has now been revealed. Do not get too excited though… it’s going to be launched in Japan only according to sources. The new Windows Mobile 5.0 smartphone has some rather flashy features. It is powered by a 416Mhz Intel PXA270 processor and can handle a resolution of 640×480 on a 2.8″ screen. It can operate both in portrait and landscape mode. It has a slide out keyboard and includes a stylus to make navigation far easier. It has wifi, 1.3 megapixel camera although Bluetooth support is not listed as a feature (Like I care with it going to Japan only:)).

Sony Ericsson W810

The new Sony Ericsson W810 is another mobile in the Walkman range of phones which I think are very good. It is the son of the W800 which was another excellent phone. The W810 improves on some of the bad parts of the W800 which were not that many. It has a new joystick and the mobile internet is changed. The colour of the phone is changed from White to Black. It is the familier Orange colour which we are used to seeing in this range of W phones.

A 512Mb memory card is included which is changeable for an even larger one. A downside is the slow USB connection to a PC. The cable is included but it doesnt perform how we would all expect. However, who really cares about the USB connection speed 🙂 I have never used it yet. Always use Bluetooth or a card reader.

Self Driving VW Golf

This new “prototype”… the VW Golf GTi ’53 plus 1′ (53 because it’s the original Herbie 53) is capable of driving it’s self through 2 eyes (radar sensors). It can accellerate up to speeds of 150MPH, screech around corners, avoid collisions and beat the VW test drivers around their own track.

It works with GPS technology also which can track the vehicle down to the nearest inch (although I thought GPS couldnt only track with in a few meters on the current US system). Maybe when galileo gps becomes available it could really track with in an inch.

Anyway, it sounds impressive and if things continue as they are with the big brother type systems then all of us might be able to kick back and let the car drive us to where we need to go in a few years time.

SlimEx Onyx USB HDD

This is another device I would look to buy. It is a SlimEx Onyx 40GB USB HDD. It weighs less then 3 oz and measures just 3.9″ x 2.4″ x 0.4″ which is small enough to comfortbly carry around in your pocket. It is a USB 2.0 device which gives it a nice fast transfer rate. It does not require drivers as it’s a plug and play device and has a nice magnesium alloy casing making it tough against a few knocks here and there (although I do not recommend that :))
