Neo N7 GPS Navigation Device

N7 Neo GPS
The Neo N7 caught my attention today due to it’s large screen and interesting navigation software. The screen is 7 inches although it is only capable of 16k colours which is unfortunate as it would double as a nice movie player and picture viewer had it been capable of much more. Movies can still be played and the device has an SD card slot so that you can play movies off your memory card. Dual core processing is an option but pricing of this option is not currently available. Full specs are after the jump.

Nokia N76

Nokia N76
Since the arrival of the N series of Nokia mobile phones they never cease to amaze me with features. The fairly new line up of mobiles have been packed with features. The N70 is a great 3G video phone, the N73 stepped up a little further by adding a Carl Zeiss 3.2 mega pixel camera with a shutter. The N73 also recently got X-Series which is a bunch of very useful apps that can be used in your day to day business needs. Programs such as Skype can be used, mobile mail and much more. The N Series of Nokia mobile phones are seriously worth searching for if you havent seen much about them yet.

IOGear Security Mouse

iogear
Security for some people is essential. I know that the data I carry around on my flash drive is important enough not to get in to anyone elses hands. A lot of companies these days require encryption on laptops to comply with the latest security regulations. The IOGear security mouse helps tackle this problem by including a fingerprint reader. The mouse contains a virtual drive which cannot be accessed unless you authenticate with your fingerprint. On swiping the correct finger print the data can then be read in an unencrypted form.

Also included in the mouse is a Nano Shield technology that stops 99% of germs building up on your mouse. Not sure if thats ever been a serious problem in life but it is an addition for those concious of a clean healthy mouse. The IOGear security mouse costs 79.95 dollars and will be available in February in the US.

Samsung SGH-F300

Samsung SGH-F300
This great looking phone caught my attention today over on Ubergizmo. It is a nice looking music phone that supports many music formats as well as a number of video formats.

The screen is quite small at only 176×220 resolution, but for the small size of the device and it’s looks it still seems like an excelent device.

Memory wise it can handle up to 2Gb in the way of a MicroSD card which is a nice amount. You should be able to compress movies down to a small size due to the resolution being very low.

RFID Digital Door Lock

RFID Digital Door Lock
For those conscious of protecting their homes and/or family and want to encompass new technology the digital door lock offers that solution. This high tech security product features RFID, key fob or pin code access to your home. There is no keyhole which means it cannot be picked, leaving your home more secure and easy to access. If you are prone to loosing your key, locksmiths are still a thing of the past because by accessing the digital door lock via a PIN pad you can re program and use the keypad to access your property. If the card is stolen then you can disable it’s use via the PIN pad also. This eliminates the need to change locks and not worry about someone getting in to your home before the locks can be changed.

As well as offering secure access from the outside, once in your home you can secure it more by using the deadbolt function which completely disables all external functions allowing nobody to access or tamper with your lock. To add even more peace of mind the lock has a tamper alarm which is activated when someone tries to force the lock or break down the door.

XWpen – By Microsoft

XWpen
A few years back, researchers at Microsoft created the XWPen. The XWpen was an interesting device which had a built in handwriting recording circuit which could fit in the space that and ink cartridge would take. The circuit has a tilt sensor which tracks movement of the pen. By transmitting this information to a computer near by it can then put what you write or scribble down on to the screen. It uses an RS232 port on the PC to track this via a radio transmitter at 1200 baud rate.

GyroTablet

GyroTablet
The GyroTablet was a project by Microsoft which was never released. It uses accelerometers and gyroscopes to track it’s own movements and the software can represent these movements on the screen. Coupled together with Encarta Earth in the demonstration below you can see some great results. The project was made in 2002 with the idea of creating a richer interaction experience. Not only was this researched for Tablet PCs, it was also researched for use in Pocket PCs. By using this technology in a pocket PC you are able to interact with images on screen by tilting the device as though you were holding the object in your hand. Video after the jump.

Wallet Sized MP3 Player

Wallet Sized MP3
As technology advances, things shrink in size. The Wallet sized MP3 player is no exception to this. It is named the walletex and fits in your wallet. It is a little larger then a credit card in thickness and contains up to 2Gb storage space which is solid state. The connector is a USB and this doubles as a headphone jack with a small adapter.

There is no information yet on costs and when it is available, but we expect it to do quite well.
