Yesterday we posted a link to a video sample of a short film created and edited with the iPhone 4.
Another video has been uploaded that also used the iPhone 4 to capture video. The video captured was of the Pikes Peak held on June 27. This time the iPhone 4 was placed in an Owle Bubos to capture the video. That device is a mount for the camera that allows you to attach different lenses to the iPhone 4 and hold it more comfortably. It isn’t clear what, if any, extra lenses were used on the mount, or if everything captured was just through the regular iPhone 4 lens. The iPhone 4 launch is happening this coming week. Part of the new iPhone 4 is the camera that has been upgraded to include a higher resolution sensor at 5 megapixels along with backside illumination and an LED flash. We have previously seen sample pictures from the camera, but these were taken under perfect lighting situations and only show what is possible when used correctly, ie – your actual pictures might not look as good in all situations.
Sony has announced two new digital SLR cameras in the Alpha range called the A290 and the A390. Each has a 14.2 megapixel sensor along with a 2.7 inch tilt LCD screen with quick AF Live View. A HDMI output is also included on both cameras.
The Apple iPad lacks a few things. One of those things is a camera which would make it a perfect device for video calls. A company has decided to make an external webcam for the Apple [AAPL] iPad. It comes from a company called Photofast and right now in prototype form, uses a regular Microsoft [MSFT] webcam connected to the dock port. We do hear that when launched it will look very different.
