ASUS Eee PC 1001PX Coming to Europe Soon

Just a week or so ago we mentioned that ASUS were launching the ASUS Eee 1001PX netbook computer in two variants.

We now hear that the netbook is heading to Europe for launch. The ASUS 1001PX is an update to the previous ASUS 1001P model. The PX ads a carbon fiber styled lid and drops the glossy screen for a matte look instead making it easier on the eyes when light bounces off it.

Specifications show that the 1001PX has a 10.1 inch screen (no surprise there) that is backlit by LED and runs at a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels. Powering the device is an Intel Atom N450 processor running at 1.66GHz. 1GB of RAM can be found inside. For graphics the 1001PX has the standard Intel GMA 3150 graphics chip set. [Read more…]

ASUS building Chrome OS Tablet and Windows Tablet

ASUS are well known for making a strong line up of Eee PC netbooks. Various models are available and all come at a very good price. We are now hearing that they might be venturing in to the tablet arena (as in a screened device with no keyboard unlike the ASUS T101MT) with a device similar to the HP Slate or Apple iPad.

They are basically preparing their own iPad rivals that are to launch from what we hear, this year. We also hear that the ASUS Tablet devices will run either Google Chrome OS, or Windows as the operating system and aim to bring rich content to users.

Another possibility is for them to use the Google [GOOG] Android operating system depending on when the official Chrome OS is launched (we believe late this year). [Read more…]

ASUS Eee T101MT gets a Full Review

Back towards the end of February we came across a review of the ASUS T101MT netbook tablet that although was excellent, it had quite a bad bug in that the top inch or so of the screen just didn’t respond to touch correctly with the accuracy being way out. Another model has since shipped since the pre-production review unit and we now hear that all is actually working perfect which is good to hear.

The ASUS T101MT is an Intel Atom N450 tablet device that runs at 1.66GHz. For graphics it has an on-board Intel GMA 3150 graphics chip. The T101MT comes with 2GB of RAM installed and for storage it has a 320GB hard drive which is complimented by ASUS’ online EEE storage giving another several hundred GB of storage space. Pioneer DreamBook Lite Netbook Launched

There doesn’t seem to be a week pass where a new netbook is announced, especially with the likes of ASUS launching new Eee PC’s every week it seems. The 12.1 inch screen is LED which we should see benefit from that in terms of a clearer image. For connectivity it has Wireless that can connect up to 802.11b/g/n networks as well as a bunch of ports on the side including USB 2.0 and a wired LAN port.

The DreamBook Lite comes with a 4 cell battery although if you go for the optional 6 cell battery the netbook can achieve about 10 hours of usage between charges. [Read more…]

ASUS Eee 1015P, 1016P and 1018P Leaked

Details have emerged about three new ASUS Eee PC’s that are expected to be launched at CeBIT in the next few days. Each of the Eee PC’s falls in to the 1000 series and therefore, each has a 10 inch screen. It is expected that each of the netbooks will also run the Intel Atom N450 processor.

ASUS Eee 1015P

The ASUS Eee 1015P is an update to the ASUS Eee 1005P, but in this build it has a larger touchpad. It has a matte display and chiclet keys but the body of the netbook has been uprated to aluminium. The battery life is also similar to the 1005PE in that it gets around 14 hours although that is without wireless switched on, and we assume without too much demand on the processor. Either way, 14 hours with all that switched off should still see a good amount of hours with wifi switched on. [Read more…]
