Firefox Home Waiting for Approval from Apple

Back in May, Mozilla previewed the Firefox Home app saying it was soon going to be sent to Apple [AAPL] for approval to hit the app store. The application has now been submitted and the company is just waiting for Apple to give the go ahead.

Firefox Home is an application that lets you sync your bookmarks and open tabs up from your desktop or laptop computer with your iPhone so that when you are on the move you can easily pick up from where you left off at home. The data about tabs and bookmarks on your computer is automatically synced to the cloud which allows the iPhone to then grab that data when the free application is loaded up. [Read more…]

Apple iPad – 1.2M Units Shipping per Month (Estimate)

Some estimations indicated that Apple [AAPL] could be shifting in the region of 1.2 million iPads per month. Estimates also indicate that Apple could be shifting 2.5 million per month by the end of this year making it a huge success.

If the estimates are accurate then Apple will be continuing to ramp up production of the device. It is also believed that Apple has contacted Samsung to provide even more displays for the product. LG is the current provider of screens, so with Samsung on board, the company can produce more iPads.

Apple Apologise for iPhone 4 Ordering Issues – 600,000 Sold Day 1

Apple [AAPL] has published a formal apology on the Apple website for the issues many people experienced yesterday. The company say that more than 600,000 were sold on the first day which is their biggest product launch to date.

Yesterday Apple and its carrier partners took pre-orders for more than 600,000 of Apple’s new iPhone 4. It was the largest number of pre-orders Apple has ever taken in a single day and was far higher than we anticipated, resulting in many order and approval system malfunctions. Many customers were turned away or abandoned the process in frustration. We apologize to everyone who encountered difficulties, and hope that they will try again or visit an Apple or carrier store once the iPhone 4 is in stock.

Apple Store Goes Down under iPhone 4 Launch Pressure

It seems like a huge amount of people are trying to pre-order an iPhone 4 since the smartphone became available this morning. Right now the store is down and many errors have been seen along the order process with what seems to be few people actually managing to send Apple [AAPL] money.

Apple are obviously aware of this and hopefully will bring the site back up soon. In the UK we are still expecting carriers to update their pages and allow pre-orders, but for now we are just stuck with the “We’ll be back soon” message. [Read more…]

Apple iPhone 4 Pre-order – Best Stick to Apple Store

Engadget are hearing that Apple [AAPL] could be blocking 3rd party retailers from allowing pre-orders tomorrow as mentioned below…

We’ve been tipped that Apple may now be blocking third-party retailers from taking pre-orders altogether tomorrow. RadioShack already changed its story on us, and now Best Buy locations have started doing the same, telling us that they definitely won’t be taking pre-orders tomorrow but may be by the end of the week. Bottom line — hit up Apple’s website in the morning.

Wise advice we think as retailers are starting to give back word on pre-orders. [Read more…]
