OS Calculator Concepts

OS-calculators_1If you ever use the standard calculator on Windows XP or on a Mac then these will look very familiar to you. The OS Calculators are a concept that were designed to look exactly like the calculator on your computer.

Each calculator is basic in that it has no scientific functions and can pretty much just do basic maths, but if you want something different on your desk then these would look good.

Unfortunately they are just concept and unless the designer can get permission from Apple or Microsoft then I doubt we will see them being created and sold anywhere. Check out a couple more renderings after the jump. [Read more…]

LG BL40 Chocolate Review

LG-BL40-Chocolate-ReviewThe LG BL40 Chocolate mobile phone is unique due to it’s cinematic widescreen display that has an aspect ratio of 21:9 allowing it to play feature length movies with no borders top or bottom. With the BL40 having a large aspect ratio screen the phone is longer than your average mobile phone and though pictures seem to show the phone being a little over sized, when holding it you’ll find that it actually works very well and sits in your pocket very well.

The front of the phone is covered in tempered glass and has a nice glossy shine to it. There are no buttons on the front of the device and it’s just a smooth piece of glass that has just the ear speaker cut out. Both the top and bottom ends of the phone are accented in a vibrant red while the sides continue on the glossy black look of the front along with a thin silver strip that runs the length of the phone on each side. On the back of the phone the black gloss look is continued with just a small cut out for the 5 megapixel camera lens, flash and a small microphone. [Read more…]

The Dell Adamo XPS measures just under 10mm thick making it thinner than the macbook air. To achieve the super thinness the Adamo uses a very unique hinge which leaves a part of the main system behind the hinge (as seen below). [Read more…]

Smartphone Flash Player – HD Flash for all but iPhone

Flash-for-SmartphonesAdobe have unveiled Flash 10.1 and the great news is that all content by Adobe will work on Smartphones (except for the iPhone). This means that if you have a Windows Phone, Android, Symbian, WebOS or Blackberry then sometime in 2010 you’ll be able to access flash content on your phone.

Flash 10.1 will also be compatible with smartbooks, netbooks, PC’s and other internet-connected devices. If you have an iPhone then you wont be in luck due to limitations in the OS that prevent it from working correctly still. However, PCWorld point out that the iPhone is already hugely popular with users and already has some great multimedia and gaming content available. Apple should work more to allow Flash 10.1 to be compatible though as this new version does push the boundaries a little by adding multitouch as well as being able to detect screen orientation. Gesture based controls are also built in to the new system. [Read more…]

This is a great move as a number of people haven’t been too pleased with how O2 handle customer service. Also there have been a few network issues where coverage is concerned and people say they haven’t been able to get the best coverage on the O2 network. Hopefully Orange’s network will prove to be better on that front. [Read more…]

GPush brings Push GMail to iPhone

GPushGMail users currently cannot have their email pushed to the iPhone. According to TechCrunch, that is about to change (hopefully). I add the hopefully because the software to do this, named GPush, has not been approved by Apple as of yet. is now available for download at the app store.

The GPush application is very simple for the user and all the user has to do is enter their GMail username and password. Once that is complete then they never really need to look at the 99 cent application again (unless wanting to log in as a different GMail user). [Read more…]
