How Star Wars Sounds Were Created
The image you see above is of a radio mast. This particular mast was responsible for creating the laser blast noises in Star Wars. By hitting the metal wires with a wrench, it created almost the exact sound you hear from the blasters.
The video below goes through a number of techniques used to create sounds for the Star Wars universe and is well worth watching if you’re in to that sort of thing. [Read more…]

How Star Wars Computer Graphics were made
If you remember the graphics from Star Wars IV then this cool video shows you almost exactly how they were made. The graphics were created by Larry Cuba in the 70’s over at the Electronic Visualization Laboratory (EVL) in Illinois, Chicago.
In the video you will see how the computer graphics for the scene were they are showing how to destroy the Death Star were made. By using wire frame models (far more basic than what we see nowadays) the scene of the Death Star turret was able to be created. Although a lot more basic then what we see today, it still actually surprised me what they could achieve back in the 70’s. [Read more…]
Star Wars Force Trainer
We have already mentioned the Star Wars Force Trainer a few months back, but as it’s now available at ThinkGeek we thought we’d mention it again.
The Force is all around us. It flows around and through us. It is between us and that tree and the rock, around our sunken X-Wing, going through our wallet, tickling our armpits, and flowing between our ears. You think we’re joking, but the only way to guide the Force outside your body is to guide the Force inside your head. Yoda told us that once when we had stew over at his house. The stew was ok (if you like licking swamp creatures), but the advice was invaluable.
Become a Jedi with the Star Wars Brain Trainer
The Star Wars Brain Trainer allows you to actually use the force. When you are now told to “Use the Force…” you actually can with this gadget.
The Brain Trainer puts you on the Jedi training path by using your mind to move a ball up and down a training tower by just thinking about it. The jedi trainer makes use of a headset that reacts to changes in your brainwaves. All you need to do is simply think and concentrate as much as possible and you will see results. [Read more…]

Star Wars Case Mod

I have seen many case mods dotted around the internet which are inspired by many movies and games. The latest and greatest is the StarWars case mod which is modelled around the Millennium falcon of Star Wars.
Now, let’s have a look at the components used for this custom base star war toy. A multi-colored cycling power light, dual hard drive activity headlights, blue EL-string engine bay, 6 exhaust fans for cooling, dual hard drives including one with window, Power, reset, and engine light switches in cockpit.
Impressed I imagine. It does not stop with just the case though. The Modder has also made an X-Wing in to a mouse. This modded case is truly one of the great ones to have been created. More pictures can be found after the jump.
