AdamoXPSIf you are looking for a crazily thin laptop then check out the Dell Adamo XPS that was revealed today. Unfortunately it was just a brief showing with no technical specs revealed. From looking at it, it appears to be razor thin and makes even a MacBook Air look fat.

LG 2TB NAS – N2B1D Revealed

LG-N2B1D-2TB-NASLG have revealed a 2TB NAS drive named the N2B1D. The NAS has a smaller capacity then the previous N4B1 model. This version stores up to 2 TB of data vs the 4GB of the previous model. The NAS also has a blu-ray drive.

Inside the device you’ll find 2 harddrive slots along side the blu-ray drive. With it being a NAS you can easily hook it up to your home network so that any computer on your network can access contents if you so wish.

Power wise the unit has a power consumption of 44W and the noise levels are below 25dB making it run fairly quiet. [Read more…]

Samsung Behold II AMOLED Android Phone

SGH-t939_right1Samsung are launching a new Android phone on to the T-Mobile network in the US. The phone is the Samsung Behold II and it features a 3.2 inch AMOLED touchscreen along with a 5 megapixel camera.

Other features of this phone include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1 and 3G connectiity. The Behold II uses the TouchWiz UI that overlays on top of Android. All the regular google style apps can be found in the Android OS phone that includes maps, voice search, youtube etc… Also included with this phone is Microsoft Exchange support which is a nice addition allowing the phone to be used more in businesses that support Exchange server.

Storage wise the memory can be expanded up to 16GB by using microSD cards. [Read more…]

Motorola Tao – More Pictures Revealed

Moto-Tao1Yesterday we wrote about the Motorola Tao and the pictures that had leaked. Unfortunately the pictures leaked only showed applications running on the device and not the actual phone it’s self. The same user has now uploaded a wider angle shot showing a bit more of the hardware.

The image is a little on the blurry side, but it does give you a good impression of what the smartphone will look like. I have to say it does look quite nice as I was expecting it to be a little clunkier being a Motorola.

BGR last month showed a picture of a prototype of the then called Schules showing the QWERTY keyboard layout. No pictures of the Tao opened up have been uploaded yet (to my knowledge) but after the jump we do have a picture showing you what the prototype looks like and we assume not much will have changed. USB 3.0 WebCam with 1080p60 Streaming Revealed

USB-3-0-1080p-WebCamUSB 3.0 was announced a while back and what we have here is a new webcam designed to be USB 3.0 compliant. It is built by Point Grey and the specs are quite impressive as it can actually capture full HD at 1080p at an impressive 60 frames per second.

Due to the wider bandwidth available on USB 3.0, it allows raw data to be pushed through allowing it to function at the higher resolution and frame rate.

Inside the camera there is a 3 megapixel Sony CMOS sensor that is capable of capturing the 1920×1080 pixels needed to make up the resolution. [Read more…]

LG 55LHZ Wireless LED HDTV Announced

lg-wireless-hdtvA big annoying problem you come across when installing a TV is that it needs a bunch of wires connecting to it to make it work. LG have created the 55LHZ HDTV that has wireless features built in allowing you to drop a few of those cables. In fact, all that is needed for this TV is a power lead to get it going.

The LG 55LHZ is a 55″ screen that is backlit by many LEDs. Each LED can be switched on and off independently so that blacks are actually black. Up to 240 levels of brightness can also be achieved which overall gives 40 times more contrast than a typical HDTV according to LG. [Read more…]

HTC Tattoo Unveiled

HTC-Tattoo-keysHTC are launching a new phone named the HTC Tattoo. The Tattoo is an Android based phone that can be completely customised in the way of how the menu’s are setup and what widgets are used on the home pages.

The HTC Tattoo is the second android phone that uses the HTC Sense UI. The Sense UI is a fantastic interface that allows the phone to work with widgets. An example of what it can do is the contacts widget that can pull contacts not only from your built in contacts, but also from Facebook and other networking sites. [Read more…]

Samsung OLED Laptops Coming Next Year

Samsung-OLED-LaptopsAt IFA, Samsung mentioned that they will be using OLED for their laptop lineup next year when the screens become commercially available. This is expected to be quarter 3 next year.

Other than that comment from Kyu Uhm, the head of worldwide sales and marketing for the computing division, there were no other details mentioned. [Read more…]

Remote Controlled Transforming Robot Car

Robot-Remote-Controlled-CarThis remote controlled car is capable of transforming in to a robot. By hitting a button on the remote control the hood and front wheels elevate about 10″ in the air and expose a canon that fires suction cup darts.

Five darts can be stored inside and they can be fired in rapid succession. When you have finished causing destruction you then hit another button and the robot colapses back in to a car that you can drive around like a normal RC car. [Read more…]

Sharp AQUOS LED Backlit TV’s

Sharpe-AQUOS-LC-46LE700ESharp had an AQUOS LED Backlit TV on display this year. Sharp’s main aim is ‘High technology, and Super GreenĀ which will be achieved through the use of LED and a mixture of solar at their production plant. Sharpe have over 40 years of experience with LED’s since 1968 and have now created a new plant in Sakai Japan where they will be able to create 13 million HDTV’s a year. As part of their green initiative they also plan to create an 18MWatt solar panel plant on the roof of the Sakai building. Sharps other goal is to make larger and thinner displays.

On to the AQUOS range of TV’s we see that they have created the LC-46LE700E that runs at 46 inches in widescreen format. This TV is backlit by LED and runs at full HD at 1080p with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. [Read more…]

LG Announce the SL9000, SL8000 and LH9000 LED TV’s at IFA

LG-SL9000-42-InchAs well as announcing the LG LU7000 series TV’s, LG also announced 3 other new TV’s named the SL9000, SL8000 and LH9000 LED TV’s at IFA today. Each of the 3 new TV’s offers something new and each of them look fantastic.

The first is the new BORDERLESS SL9000 Edge LED TV. The Edge LED TV has it’s backlight actually around the edges of the screen allowing it to measure just 2.9cm in thickness. The glass on the front of the screen also goes right to the edge sitting flush with the bezel making it a complete smooth panel to hang on the wall. Sony-Blu-RaySony have announced two new blu-ray players named the BDP-S560 and the BDP-S760. Both players are designed to give high quality 1080p picture quality along with 7.1 surround sound.

Both of the Blu-ray players are wireless at 802.11n speeds allowing you to not only grab the latest firmware updates over your network, but also connect to the web so you can utilise the BD-Live service. Also both players can receive JPG files from other DLNA devices such as Vaio laptops and PC’s even if they are not in the same room. [Read more…]
