ASUS N-Series Laptop Unveiled

ASUS have announced their latest laptop range called the ASUS N-Series. The N-Series comprises of three laptops named the N43, N63 and N73 (N73 pictured above).

Each laptop in the N-Series comes with USB 3.0, an Intel Core Processor as well as Bang and Olufsen ICEpower audio. Each of the laptops is capable of full HD on the video side as well as 3D playback.

The Bang and Olufsen side of things increases audio quality making the laptop a full entertainment machine. [Read more…]

Nokia C5 Smartphone Unveiled

Nokia have unveiled a new smartphone called the Nokia C5. The C5 is the beginning of a new series of phones called the Nokia Cseries that ads to the already available Xseries as well as unannounced phones in the Eseries and Nseries.

The C5 sits right in the middle of the Cseries class and runs the Series 60 3rd Edition symbian operating system. It has a 2.2 inch screen along with a 3.2 megapixel camera. Software wise, it comes pre-installed with Ovi Maps allowing for free navigation in a number of countries around the globe.

New features are included in the Nokia C5 such as the phone book that allows you to see friends Facebook status’ as well as send them messages from the phone book. [Read more…]

LG Windows Phone 7 Series Handset Revealed

Last week we mentioned that LG were readying the first Windows Phone 7 Series handset ready for launch sometime between September and November this year.

Engadget managed to take a look at the handset whilst filming the Engadget Show. A quick look at the picture above shows that it appears to have the right things in place to qualify as a Windows Phone 7 Series handset such as it having 3 hardware buttons below the screen and a large high-res screen that’s capacitive touch. Casio EX-10HG GPS Enabled Camera

Back at CES in Vegas last month, Casio had on display a concept camera called the Casio EX-10HG. This particular camera is similar to EX-FH100 but is different in that it has a built in GPS chip. The GPS chip is utilised more than just geo-tagging though and can be used as a guidance system by pulling data from Google Maps to show you exactly where you are at any given time.

Over at PMA that’s running at the moment, a Casio representative revealed that the concept camera was actually to be launched this year in October and will have a price point of $400. [Read more…]

Sony Concept Camera Unveiled

Sony are working on a new ultra-compact camera that uses interchangeable lenses. The new DSLR is currently being developed and is scheduled for launch this year. The camera uses a newly developed Exmor APS HD CMOS sensor that supports HD video recording in the AVCHD format.

As well as introducing and showing an early design of the ultra-compact camera, Sony also had on show their latest DSLR called the a700 which at this moment in time, is also a concept/mock up. This camera falls in to the mid-range area of cameras from Sony and is aimed at so called “prosumers” and those who immerse themselves more in to photography. [Read more…]

Samsung Wave Unveiled

Samsung have created a new phone called the Samsung Wave. The Wave uses the new Bada OS and is actually the first device to utilise this operating system.

The Samsung Waves comes with a 1GHz processor along with a 3.3 inch WVGA Super AMOLED touchscreen display that can show 800 x 480 pixels. The Super AMOLED screen claims to have no motion blur, be ultra crisp and true to the original colours that it represents on-screen. The quick 1GHz processor allows for HD video to be played back smoothly as well as applications also run smoothly. We’ve seen how 1GHz processors perform in the past on other various devices and have definitely seen an increase in performance when used over slower 500 – 600MHz CPU’s. [Read more…]

Acer Liquid e Android Phone Unveiled

Acer have announced their latest Acer Liquid e phone. The device will run the latest Google [GOOG] OS Android 2.1 (aka Eclair) and be powered by a 1GHz Snapdragon processor from Qualcomm.

The Acer Liquid e Android phone has a 3.5 inch high definition screen that is capacitive touch allowing good quality images and video to be displayed. Plenty of connectivity can be found on the Liquid e with wireless 802.11b/g being supported along with Bluetooth 2.0 and HSDPA, HSUPA and GSM/EDGE.

RAM and ROM on the device is set at 512MB and 256MB respectively. The camera has a 5 megapixel sensor although no flash is mentioned. [Read more…]

Samsung C7000 3D LED LCD HDTV Ready for Pre-Order

Samsung have launched their new 3D HDTV and it’s ready for pre-order now. Three versions of the TV are being made available to purchase which includes three Samsung C70000 models each of which have a built-in 3D processor. The three screens measure 40 inches, 46 inches or 55 inches depending on which model you purchase.

The 40 inch C7000 is the cheapest of the models (no surprise there) and costs $1,799.98 although for some reason the 3D glasses required to use the TV in 3D mode. Each TV uses 250Hz Clear Motion Technology and each has Internet@TV enabled for use.

The built in 3D processor was designed with the new Blu-Ray 3D standard in mind and therefore, you shouldn’t have the worries that the technology will be out-dated as soon as it leaves pre-order status. [Read more…]

Nokia N87 AMOLED Camera Phone Details Leaked – Rumour

Yesterday we mentioned a new Nokia N series phone that was rumoured to be launching or at least unveiled at MWC this month. The phone was spotted as the Nokia N8 although perhaps the N8 was referring to this Nokia N87 smartphone as the specs look very similar.

The Nokia N87 is said to have a 12 megapixel camera built in that is capable of capturing images at 720p. It uses Carl Zeiss optics and has a Xenon flash along with night viewing. The processor powering the Nokia N87 is believed to be a 600MHz ARM Cortex 8 processor.

Wireless is built in to the phone which is expected to be 802.11b/g and perhaps n also. An A-GPS chip is also built in allowing for location based services as well as navigation to be used on the device. An FM radio transmitter is to be found in the phone also. For storage it is expected to have either 16GB or 32GB onboard. [Read more…]

Recycled iMac G4 Lamp

Etsy seller randall180 created a unique lamp for an office desk out of the casing of an old iMac G4. The iMac had stopped working a while back, so randall180 decided to put it to good use, carve out the innards and make him self a light for the office.

For those of you who wanted to get your hands on the lamp, it’s actually out of stock now. I assume only the original was available to purchase due to the 1 G4 breaking down. Check out another picture after the jump. [Read more…]

Acer E110 Android and P300 Windows Mobile Phones Unveiled

Acer have revealed details of a couple of new phones called the Acer E110 that runs the Google Android OS and the Acer P300 that will run Windows mobile.

The Acer E110 has appeared over at Bluetooth SIG and is expected to run Android 2.0 when launched. For connectivity the E110 will use UMTS/HSDPA at 900/1200MHz or 850/1900MHz. Assisted GPS is built in along with Bluetooth and although not mentioned here, we assume WiFi at atleast 802.11b/g. The screen size and resolution is unknown although we do know it is touchscreen. Four buttons are to be found under the screen which are home to the traditional Send/End/Back and Home keys. [Read more…]

X2 Computing iTablet Revealed

X2 Computing are launching the iTablet. The iTablet comes in two flavours which include a 10.2 inch or 12.1 inch screen version. Each version has multitouch capabilities and runs either the Linux operating system or Windows 7.

Powering the iTablet is a 1.6GHz processor and for storage the device has 250GB. For connectivity there is wifi and Bluetooth built in and X2 also provide an optional 3G/GSM module for connecting over mobile networks. Ports on the device include 3 x USB (2.0?) along with a HDMI output. A 1.3 megapixel webcam is also included in the device. [Read more…]
