Samsung Galaxy Tab Revealed

After several months of leaks and details about the Samsung Galaxy Tab, it has now been made official.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab will have a 7 inch screen and it will run Android 2.2 (Froyo). The 7 inch tablet is capable of making and receiving both voice and video calls and it has the ability to send text messages, picture messages and email of course.

DROID X Users who Installed Leaked 2.2 Update get no Official Updates

For those of you who updated to the leaked Motorola DROID X Android 2.2 update, bad news is in store as you wont be able to install the official update when it arrives in a few weeks time.

Motorola has announced that those who manually installed the leaked ROM will be cut out from the official upgrade path. They will provide no way to update to the latest version.

This is quite a big contrast when compared to the HTC EVO 4G which HTC did it’s best to create a patch that would fix the problem of upgrading early. [Read more…]

LG 31 Inch OLED hits IFA

LG is set to reveal a larger OLED display at IFA this year. This time around the screen will measure 31 inches and yet, have a thickness of just 0.11 inches.

As well as showing off an ultra thin and relatively large OLED screen at IFA, they will also be showing a slightly thicker 0.35 inch LCD screen that is available to buy now. [Read more…]

iPhone and Palm Pre Bundled in to One Device

If you can’t decide between an iPhone or a Palm Pre then perhaps this import device might be for you. According to the site that sells it, it’s a Palm Pre with QWERTY keyboard that not only has webOS running inside, it also has iOS (well, a fake iOS we should say). Looking closer at the pictures you can see it’s clearly not the real deal in terms of Apple [AAPL] software.

Android App Revenue of a Developer Detailed

If you have ever wondered how much an Android app developer can make, Arron La has decided to detail his earnings from an Android app that he created in February 2009.

The app in question costs $0.99 and is called Advanced Task Manager. What the app does is allows Android users to kill tasks and services that stay running even when a particular app has been closed down.

‘Advanced Task ManagerĀ is an Android application I created in February 2009. At that time, it was needed mainly to kill running services that a number of applications spawned but never ended. Some of these services would start at boot time and remain running indefinitely, causing slowdowns on the phone.

Nokia N9 Spotted – Detailed Photos

Some leaked pictures of the Nokia N9 have surfaced. Normally when leaked photos are seen, they are blurry and often of just part of the device. In this case, they are very clear and show quite a bit of detail about the Nokia N9.

The Nokia N9 has received a new chassis that looks quite sleek. The chassis of the N9 is full metal mixed with a few plastic parts. The QWERTY keyboard looks to be done well and appears to be of a chiclet design. [Read more…]

Sony a33 and a55 Swivel Screen DSLRs Unveiled

Some pictures of a couple of new Digital SLR cameras from Sony have been found by the Photorumours website. The two new models are the Sony a33 and the Sony a55.

Each camera uses a pellicle mirror to split the light in two directions when pictures are captured. For details on what that means, you can check out this Wikipedia article or see a basic break down below…

A pellicle camera uses a semi-transparent mirror within the light path splitting the incoming picture light beam into two separate beams, both of reduced light intensity. Allowing the light beams to be used for more purposes simultaneously.

Microsoft Windows Phone 7 Xbox Live Games Revealed

Microsoft [MSFT] is launched Windows Phone 7 in the next few months. Along with the new OS, Xbox Live is also bundled in to the OS bringing the avatars in to the palm of your hand.

EFO iPazzPort Mini Keyboard Unveiled (3rd Gen)

EFO has launched the 3rd gen iPazzport keyboard. The small device has a BlackBerry look and houses a small QWERTY keyboard along with a touchpad above that.

The keyboard is wireless and comes supplied with a wireless USB dongle and allows you to use it with HTPC, IPTV or CARPC devices as well as games consoles such as the Xbox 360, PS3 and any other device that can receive text input from an external keyboard.

Netronix PocketBook 602 eBook Reader Unveiled

Netronix will soon release the PocketBook 602 eBook reader in the US. The FCC just approved the device for launch.

The PocketBook 602 has a six inch screen that uses e-Ink to display text and images. Processor wise it has a 532MHz Freescale ARM11 processor. Other features include Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and a 3G/3.5G wireless data connection. The OS running on the device is a custom build of Linux.

The eBook reader supports several file formats which include PDF, ePUB, FB2, HTML, TXT, PRC, MOBI, RTF, DOC, JPG, and MP3 file formats. [Read more…]
