OmniFocus for iPhone and iPad Get Location Based Reminders

Omni Group has pushed out a couple of new updates today. Each is for OmniFocus for both the iPhone and the iPad. One of the new features that the updates bring is location based reminders. The location based reminders work in a similar way to the built in iOS 5 Reminders app and allow you to put a point on a map where you want to be reminded of something. As soon as are within a certain distance of that point you get a reminder pop up on screen.

Facebook for iPad Launches

Facebook has just released an update for the Facebook App which now makes it compatible with the iPad. The new update is version 4.0 and is compatible on both the iPad and the iPhone. The Facebook app for is a much welcomed update for many who have requested an iPad version over the past 18 months.

Samsung Stratosphere Announced by Verizon

A new smartphone from Samsung will soon be launched on the Verizon network in the US. The device is the Samsung Stratosphere which comes running the Google Android operating system, has a slide out QWERTY keyboard and has LTE connectivity.

200,000 Pre-orders on AT&T for iPhone 4S within 12 Hours

Within 12 hours of the iPhone 4S pre-orders opening, AT&T managed to get 200,000 orders of the new smartphone from Apple [AAPL].

AT&T has seen extraordinary demand for iPhone 4S with more than 200,000 preorders in the first 12 hours alone, the most successful iPhone launch we’ve ever had. It’s obvious customers like AT&T’s 4G network, which is the only one that lets their iPhone download twice as fast and talk and surf simultaneously.

O2 iPhone 4S UK Price Revealed

O2 in the UK is the next network to reveal prices for the iPhone 4S. O2 is offering the iPhone 4S on contracts of 12, 18 and 24 months with prices varying from £15.50 to £62 per month. For those wanting it on a 12 month contract, you’ll need to be existing O2 customers.

Everything Everywhere (T-Mobile/Orange) To Begin 3G Network Sharing

Last year Orange and T-Mobile combined forces to create one large network. The company is called Everything Everywhere although T-Mobile and Orange are still keeping their own brands within that name. Late last year Everything Everywhere began sharing 2G connections across networks allowing registered users on either network to automatically hop over to the other network when signal strength was bad on their own network. This was only 2G though.

We now hear that 3G will begin switching on starting next week.

Samsung Nexus Prime on AT&T and T-Mobile Arrives at FCC

The Samsung Nexus Prime has been sent to the FCC for approval in the US. The particular version found on the FCC records is the AT&T and T-Mobile version. Prior to this finding it was believed that the Nexus Prime was a Verizon exclusive although this looks like it now isn’t the case.

Siri is iPhone 4S Only – Older Installs to Stop Working on October 15

When Apple announced the iPhone 4S the other day, we learned that the assistant software, Siri, was only available for those running a new iPhone 4S. Any other iOS device would simply not have the option. Up till the day of announcement of the 4S, Siri was available in the app store and allowed users to use voice to control their smartphone. We now hear that the service will stop working on October 15, the day after the launch of the iPhone 4S.

Windows Phone 7.5 Mango Exchange 2003 Problem Revealed

Windows Phone 7.5 Mango is relatively new for users around the world. We learn today that a small bug is present for those who check email on an Exchange 2003 server. When replying to emails the WP7.5 device is cutting off the history of the email which essentially just leaves people contextless when it comes to reading the history of the email.

Real Racing 2 for iPhone 4S To Get Party Play Mode

Firemint has announced that an update for Real Racing 2 on both the iPhone 4S and iPad 2 is due. The new version will allow for AirPlay support on both of these devices and also allows them to connect up to Party Play which allows users to wirelessly connect to a TV and play against other opponents.

Apple has confirmed that the unlocked iPhone 4S in the US will begin shipping in November. For those wanting it on a particular network which includes AT&T, Sprint and Verizon, you can pre-order today. For those that want it unlocked you’ll need to wait till next month to receive it.

Google Nexus Prime Leaked and Delayed

The Google Nexus Prime was expected to be announced this coming week although it seems that it has already been delayed.

“Samsung and Google decide to postpone the new product announcement at CTIA Fall. We agree that it is just not the right time to announce a new product. New date and venue will be shortly announced.”

We don’t know how big the delay is, but suspect it will likely launch before Christmas still, perhaps late November now. The image below was leaked earlier today showing what is believed to be the Nexus Prime.
