If you have a PC full of movies and other media and get fed up of sitting in front of it to watch the latest videos then the Netgear EVA700 could be for you. The EVA700 is a device which has outputs that connect to your TV, projector or what ever type of big screen that you want. You can then connect either an ethernet cable or use wireless to transmit the video to your screen in the living room from your PC. A remote control is also included which allows full access to controlling what you want to watch and when. The remote control brings up an onscreen file browsing menu system which allows you to scan through and play what you want. Configuration is a breeze, all you do is connect it to your TV, connect it to your network and install the software on your PC and you are good to go.
The netgear costs 179.95 pounds and is available from Firebox in the UK.

Netgear EVA700
Sony Ericssons SO903iTV Bravia
Sony Ericsson are now making the Bravia mobile a reality. The phone named SO903iTV Bravia, is a clamshell type which comes in red, works in landscape mode, has a very large 3 inch widescreen display and a built in TV tuner. Sony have a habbit of getting users to use their memory stick format or Memory stick DUO, but with this mobile phone they are creating it to use microSD which is a welcomed change. The built in camera is 2 megapixels which is slightly lower then the 3.2 megapixels which we are seeing in other phones recently. Unfortunatly this phone will probably not hit Europe or the USA as it seems that it will be launched in Japan only. However, do not let this worry you as I am sure Sony will release similar models later in 2007 which will be launched out this way.
Another interesting feature is the screen which we believe will be the open up and swivel kind to allow for easier viewing of the TV and movie functions that are built in. No doubt more info will be released in the next month or so, and we will report as soon as we get the details.

Neo N7 GPS Navigation Device
The Neo N7 caught my attention today due to it’s large screen and interesting navigation software. The screen is 7 inches although it is only capable of 16k colours which is unfortunate as it would double as a nice movie player and picture viewer had it been capable of much more. Movies can still be played and the device has an SD card slot so that you can play movies off your memory card. Dual core processing is an option but pricing of this option is not currently available. Full specs are after the jump.

Nokia N76
Since the arrival of the N series of Nokia mobile phones they never cease to amaze me with features. The fairly new line up of mobiles have been packed with features. The N70 is a great 3G video phone, the N73 stepped up a little further by adding a Carl Zeiss 3.2 mega pixel camera with a shutter. The N73 also recently got X-Series which is a bunch of very useful apps that can be used in your day to day business needs. Programs such as Skype can be used, mobile mail and much more. The N Series of Nokia mobile phones are seriously worth searching for if you havent seen much about them yet.

iLoad – From CD to iPod in Minutes
The iLoad was created with a simple philosophy in mind… “The shortest distance between two points is a straight line”. In English this means that when you buy an iPod, then why do you need to go through the hastle of converting CD’s in iTunes and then transferring them to your iPod. The iLoad takes the middle man out of the equation by allowing you to connect your iPod direct to the media you are copying from. Basically, you plug your iPod in to it, connect the iLoad to the source and away it goes. No computer is needed. It is portable and doesnt restrict you to just iTunes.
The success of the iLoad has been great and unfortunatly orders are taking 30 days to ship (that is as of the 15th Jan 2007). However, if you are a heavy iPod user then this could definatly be good for you and worth waiting for.

SolidDrive – Speakers
The SolidDrive is a device which turns many objects in to speakers by using high-powered neodymium magnets. When attached to a wall or surface it will create noise from that surface and make it appear that the actual wall is making the noise. One good use for this is show windows to grab people’s attention. I have seen these, or something similar out for a number of years now at the local toy shop and when you walk past it grabs your attention by talking. It’s cool to see happen. I guess they wont be too much use yet for many people except for in special circumstances, but the potential is there to create many things from them. If they could be made a lot smaller then they could be put anywhere to make some noise.
The speakers cost $500 each… so spend wisly!

Triple Layer 51Gb HD DVD
Toshiba have created a 51Gb HD DVD disc. The current Blu-ray discs are running at 50Gb. This is a nice leap forwards for the HD DVD format. Unfortunatly it still isnt too close to the real potential of a BD type disc which has the potential of running at 200Gb of storage with 8 layers. No doubt the battle will continue between the 2 formats and I guess it will come down to what you really need at the end of the day. 200Gb would work well for many things such as backing up images, movies and server images but along with all that data in one place comes a risk of loosing it 😉 Better keep it safe as that would be a killer amount of data to get in the wrong hands.

Dell Concept Display
Dell revealed at CES a new concept display. The concept display is encased in glass, is ultra thin, has built in speakers and a webcam built in. This is a great step forwards for Dell and if created could see its self being put on many desks around the world. For technical specs, the display is estimated to run at 1920 x 1200 pixels. The powersupply would not be built in and actually a seperate device that sits on the floor out of the way to save space on the display.

Memory Infinite – Concept USB Storage Device
The Memory Infinite is a concept idea thought of by Vicky Wei. The 3D models above were created and illustrate an example of linking multiple USB flash drives together to make the storage larger and appear as 1 virtual drive. As larger flash drive come on sale it no longer means the end of your old drive. The new drive can simply plug in to the back of the older drive and the storage space is increased. With it being concept there is no official date of this being released, if ever. The only questions that come to my mind is… how many drives would you want to link together before you have a serious long chain of them, and would it actually work as 1 drive.
This is still a nice idea and the 3D images do make it look cool.

IOGear Security Mouse
Security for some people is essential. I know that the data I carry around on my flash drive is important enough not to get in to anyone elses hands. A lot of companies these days require encryption on laptops to comply with the latest security regulations. The IOGear security mouse helps tackle this problem by including a fingerprint reader. The mouse contains a virtual drive which cannot be accessed unless you authenticate with your fingerprint. On swiping the correct finger print the data can then be read in an unencrypted form.
Also included in the mouse is a Nano Shield technology that stops 99% of germs building up on your mouse. Not sure if thats ever been a serious problem in life but it is an addition for those concious of a clean healthy mouse. The IOGear security mouse costs 79.95 dollars and will be available in February in the US.

Kodak V1003
The Kodak V1003 is a serious bit of kit which boasts a nice 10 megapixel sensor. We are currently unsure of the other specs but it looks like a very slim line camera with a fairly large screen.
As well as a good resolution the camera comes in a number of different colours to suit your personal taste. More details to follow as we receive them.
