Fuji Finepix F470

Fuji have introduced this 6 megapixel Finepix camera (the F470). It’s a very light weight camera weighing in at just 122g which puts it as one of the lightest in the 6 megapixel class.

It features a 3x zoom, quick start up, low shutter lag, ISO 400, and excellent colour and white balance. The screen is a nice sized 2.5″ which we are seeing quite often on the latest digital cameras.

On the downside, the battery provided is not that great and does not hold it’s charge too well. A shame, but still a great camera.

NEC Fingerprint Scanner

NEC have introduced a super senstative finger print scanner. The fingerprint scanner is an 800dpi (highest so far is around 500dpi) and has a very low rate of getting it wrong. Somewhere in the region of 0.0001%.

The device is to cost around $250.

Smallest Digital Camera Sensor

The worlds smallest camera sensor is tiny! It measures at 2.1 x 2.3 mm which is about a 5th of your finger nail. Some say it’s to do with medical reasons in that you could swallow and see inside you but I doubt that is the case as it would end up taking pictures from random directions although it would still be cool to see pics all the way through your body 🙂

Egokasts Video Belt Buckle

I came across this fancy video belf buckle today. It’s kind of different and I guess it makes it difficult to watch a movie your self. Maybe it’s to impress your friends 😉

Tekkeon’s myPower ALL

The Tekkeons myPower ALL does what it says it does and powers ALL devices. The myPower is priced between $120 – $160 and each power tip costs just $3 – $5 which is a very reasonable price in my opinion.

Full technical details can be found over at Engadget via the link below.

Mitsubishi XD435U-G DLP Projector

Mitsubish are to launch the XD435U-G DLP Projector. So whats it all about? The XD435u-G has a quick power up and quick powerdown feature which is nice for starting presentations. I personally have had an issue while switching projectors on to start a presentation and something is for some reason different.

One other nice feature is a USB connection where you can connect a USB memory stick to play video files and images. Very useful so you do not have to connect a laptop!

Mustek Super Gadget – The DV536

What on earth is a super gadget? Mustek have created it and I will tell you 🙂 A super gadget is something that plays music, videos, has a built in 10 Mega Pixel camera and can encode footage from TV’s or DVD players as well as a whole lot more.

The mustek is an amazing looking little device that seriously packs a punch in it’s tiny case.

The price? Not much to be honest. They have squeezed all this in to a less then $200 package.

Unfortunatly it’s not really a 10 Mega Pixel camera… it’s a 5 megapixel interpolated. It is still a good bargain at the price it is coming on sale for and you will need a hefty SD card to capture recordings.

Toshiba HD-A1 Losses?

According to sources, the Toshiba HD-A1 looses $200 on each and every sale. This is iSuppli who have taken the thing appart and priced up each part. They reakon it costs over $700 to make one of these units which sells at $500.

The reason being that they want to penetrate the market before all the Blu-Ray technology comes out later on this year.
