We recently wrote about X-Series for those in the UK on the Three network which now includes the ability to use Skype on your Three phone. Currently the Nokia N73 is the phone that is required although some services will work on other mobile phones. Pricing a few days ago was not available, but today when I checked out the Three site I actually found that it was very reasonably prices. Currently there are 2 plans to subscribe to. These are the silver and gold plans which cost 5 pounds/month or 10 pounds/month if you are a current Three customer. If you are not then they have offers on in where you can pay 20 pounds a month for a new contract which jumps up to 35/month after 6 months. A nice amount of free texts and minutes is bundled in with the full price plans which is no suprise with Three as they tend to be generous with their offerings.
A full review by me will be coming soon when I download the apps shortly.
So what do you get?
The silver plan includes unlimited skype calls, unlimited live messenger use, unlimited data use on sites such as yahoo! Go, Yahoo! Search, eBay access, Mobile mail which is capable of connecting to a POP3 server.
For the gold plan you get the same as the silver plan and the extra usage on sling box and/or Orb.
So what does unlimited mean? Unfortunatly not unlimited. I am not sure why companies say unlimited when they specify limits. Seems weird to me! According to the terms you can have so much usage of each item like 5000 sykpe minutes, 1Gb transfer, 80 hours of sling or orb etc… To be fair, they are very generous. Terms can be found here.
If you decide to sign up then take a look over here for full details on how to get going. All can be done from your handset if you currently have an N73.
