Etsy is a store of weird and wonderful stuff. The next item I came across on Etsy is this wooden iPhone case built particularly for the 3G version of the phone.
Each of the cases is made from wenge which is a tropical timber. They are finished in linseed oil to make them durable and smooth. With them being handmade it does bump up the price a bit, so expect to pay $85 for a case. However, should you drop your phone in one of these beasts then all should be ok.
