These days our homes are full of gadgets such as cable TV boxes, Plasma or LCD screens, alarm clocks, more clocks, mobile phone chargers and a bunch of lights. Each of these might only suck up a few pence per day while being in standby mode but all of that ads up each year. The Wattson Energy Monitor is designed to help you save money… I like the things you buy that make life cheaper.

The Wattson Energy Monitor has a sensor clip that attaches to a mains cable going in to your fuse box. Once attached, information is transmitted to the Wattson box which then calculates what the current electricity usage is. It also gives you a run down of how much that consumption is costing you.

If you are not too bothered about reading the exact numbers then there is a light underneath the device that that changes colour dependant on how much power you are using. All of the device is wireless which allows you to put the display in a different location to the clip (with in a generous 30m range). Also the information given is real time so that when you switch an electric fire on the changes can be seen right away.

28 days of data is stored on the Wattson allowing you to look through the past month and see what days you burnt the most electricity. You can also attach the device to your computer via a USB cable and run various charts and graphs which can be shared with other Wattson users.

* Currency can be displayed as Pounds or Euros. 32kb memory stores all of your electricity data for up to 28 days.

* Compatible with both PC and MAC.
* Includes 9V charger for the display unit.
* Requires 4x AA batteries (not included).
