If you fear that encryption is not a good enough way to keep your files safe then a USB Lock could be just for you. The USB lock is a physical lock that you attach to the USB connector of your flash drive. To remove it you just need to enter the 3 digit combination correctly and the lock can then be removed.
The problems are that with only 1000 combinations you are hardly going to be completely secure as the thief will just sit there for a couple of hours cycling through each number till he hits the jackpot… and that’s all it would take too… just a couple of hours.
I think you would be better just spending your $9 on something else and going with the encryption method.
