Uniden ULP1000 Laser Pico Projector Announced

Uniden is about to launch a new Laser Pick Projector called the Uniden ULP1000. The projector can project an image with a WVGA resolution of 848 x 480 pixels. The contrast ratio of the projector is 5000:1.

With the pico projector being based on a laser, this means that no focus is necessary and that images are kept in focus regardless of the surface and how far the projector is from the surface.

The ULP1000 comes with a unique docking charger where you can easily place the projector to be charged when needed. The battery life on the projector is about 2 hours on a single charge which should see you through a film or so and perhaps a game or 2.

Other features of the ULP1000 include a VGA and composite port for external connectivity. When launched the projector will cost $829.

The downside of laser projectors and any other pico projector for that matter is the battery life. In the next couple of years we should see more powerful lasers to project larger screens and better battery life bumping it up a few hours all being well.

These things are terrible. Don’t waste your money. The picture is blurry, dim and distorted. Also gives you an eye strain after a while. Wish i’d never bought it. Waste of $800!!
