Submarine-based Chopper

October 2, 2007

Submarine Based Chopper
This cool helicopter can carry 2 passengers and was designed by students at Technion-Israel Institute of Technology in Haifa and the university of Pennsylvania. It is named Waterspout and can launch from a submarine that is 15m under the ocean and can fly about 260 kilometers. It is capable of also floating in rough water. The coating around the helicopter prevents radar picking it up allowing for safe transit of injured passengers in an emergency. It is small enough to not take up too much valuable space in the submarine.
