Sony’s Lightest Laptop with Blu-Ray

by Matthew on September 23, 2008

sony_tt_laptopSony have created the VAIO TT series laptop which is now the lightest laptop with Blu-ray support. The laptop has an 11.1 inch LCD screen with back light and has 256GB SSD storage built in.

The chassis is built of carbon fibre allowing it to weigh just 2.87 pounds. It measures less then 1 inch thick. The Blu-ray player can play full HD movies at 1080p resolution which works when connecting up a HD TV to the HDMI output. The 11.1 inch screen is in widescreen aspect and uses Sony’s XBRITE-DuraView which delivers more vibrant colours making images and movies more true to life. The processor is an Intel Centrino 2 which allows for power and also energy saving when the full power is not needed.

Overall it’s a great looking and very powerful laptop. Expect to pay around $2000 for the base model while the Blu-ray version will add another $700 to that and SSD models a tad more.
