A new touchscreen notebook has been announced by Sony. The new VAIO W will be released this fall and will support Windows 7. By using a touchscreen the new VAIO will be able to use the touch features that are built in to Windows 7.
Other touted features are related to the Playstation partnership which should see the VAIO W accessing movies and TV and even possibly games.
“There are certain things that will be native on Windows 7 that we are certainly going to take advantage of. Without giving too much away, we think touch on Windows 7 is something we find compelling and we will certainly introduce touch into some of our products at the launch of Win 7. You will see touch capabilities introduced on Vaio products that take advantage of Windows 7,” said Sony executive Mike Abary.
