Sony have introduced a new notebook called the Sony VAIO Y Series. The Y Series VAIO features an Intel Core 2 Duo SU7300 processor running at 1.3GHz. It runs the Windows 7 Home Professional 64-bit operating system. The screen measures 13.3 inches and is backlit by LED. The LED screen is capable of showing a 1366 x 768 pixel image. For memory it has 4GB of RAM and for storage a 500GB hard drive.
On the sides of the device is a HDMI output, VGA, USB port and headphone jacks. The Y Series notebook also has Bluetooth for connectivity as well as Wireless 802.11n.
A memory card reader is also found on the device allowing Memory Sticks (Pro and Duo) to be used to transfer files. The Sony VAIO Y Series notebook will be made available for launch on the 29 January costing $999. You can go ahead and make a pre-order now if you so wish at the Sony Style website although I'd be inclined to wait and see what else is showing up at CES before making any decisions.
