Sony in Japan are getting ready to launch the Sony Vaio X series ultraportable. To prepare for the launch, Sony have launched a pre-registration site that allows you to register your interest on what looks to be a subscribe by email system according to the google translation.
Sony have confirmed in the past that the ultraportable will cost no more than $2,000 but the official price is still unknown.
At the moment the Vaio X series has an Intel Atom Processor with an 11.1 inch display. Sony also claim that the battery is good for a full days usage which would probably mean a working day of about 8 hours.
Memory wise, the model we saw earlier has 2GB and was running Windows 7. Perhaps the pre-registration is getting ready for the launch of Windows 7 next month. The ultraportable Vaio X also has USB 2.0 ports, VGA, ethernet and a memory card reader.
