Sony Ericsson XPERIA X3 to run Android

SE-X3We recently mentioned that Sony Ericsson are launching the XPERIA X2 in January 2010. The X2 is going to be running the Windows Phone OS. We hear a rumour now that the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X3 will now be launched running the Android operating system and the release date could also be set for January 2010.

It seems odd that Sony Ericsson would release the XPERIA X3 so close, if not the same time as the XPERIA X2 although if they are running different operating systems then this could be the case.

Nothing has been officially confirmed yet by Sony Ericsson, but if SE are wanting to build an Android based phone then the XPERIA series would suit it very well. We'll have more information soon about this.

A very attractive phone but Android has shown itself to be vulnerable to virus attack as in a virus launched in China by the Chinese Department of Information-something they haven’t been able to do to BlackBerry.
