A company named iUnika have created a netbook that appears to be powered by sun energy (ie, solar powered). It has been designed to be both light and compact and usable without any power source bar the sun. The technical specs reveal that this is no beast of a machine, but it does have a 400MHz processor, 128MB of RAM and a 64GB SSD. Processor and RAM might be on the light side, but there is still plenty of storage for you to use.
With the lower speced netbook it will need less power to run making it ideal for a solar panel to power it. The software running on the netbook is a proprietary version of Linux and the screen on the iUnika measures 8 inch with a resolution of just 800 x 400 pixels.
It is named the GYY and will be heading over to Europe in June at a cost of just $200 with no sign of it going to the US.
