Skoda Cake Car
For those of you who grew up laughing at Skodas, you will have seen a nice turn around over the last several years. The cars they build now are actually good and nice to drive and would make me consider driving one. Skoda created a new advert which launched today in the UK which shows a factory of cake creators putting together a car made out of cake, icing as well. The advert got my attention as it was different to what you see on TV and unique. Also it gives that impression that a Skoda could actually be quite tasty. While putting the car together music can be heard from the sound of music to top it off. Another picture of the cake engine is after the jump.

Skodas can be purchased for 7990 GBP and upwards in the UK. Check out the video over at Skoda.

I just saw it. It wouldn’t pass a safety test, but it sure looks like it could pass the tasty test!
oh dear.
That would be quite funny seeing the safety test.
I saw it tonight 18.5.07 for the first time. It certainly grabs your attention! I thought it was a con a done with computer graphics etc but after surfing around tonight it seems its for real!
PS: I drive a Skoda Fabia, and if anyone out there doubts it, I can confirm that they are excellent cars, very well built and a top finish for little money compared to competition. Just wish I had some spare cash for the new sexier model….buy one!
Tony
But what happened to the cake?
Wow, what a great advert, I just had to look for a site to leave a comment about it on. I stop what ever I am doing every time it comes on!

bceky
what was done with this amazing creation??!?!?
please we all want to know!!!
If you want to try your hand at baking a Skoda Fabia cake, here’s how to do it.
This is a reference, of course, to the new television ad in which a full-sized Fabia replica (”as close to the real thing as it’s possible to get with sponge,” according to Skoda) is created from scratch by an army of bakers, chocolatiers and bricklayers.
Now, these people are experts, so you might need a bit of advice on this, and frankly if you do you’ve come to the wrong place. However, if you fancy having a go, this is what you need:
10kg of white chocolate chunks; 3kg of orange peel strips; 12.5kg of raspberry jam; 100kg of wheat flour; 100kg of caster sugar; 50kg of icing sugar; 20kg of glacier cherries; 30kg of brown almonds; 20kg of raisins; 25kg of dried apricots; 5kg of cocoa powder; 180 fresh eggs; 90kg of brown sugar paste; 40kg of black sugar paste; 50kg of white sugar paste; and 42kg of chocolate fudge. Right, off you go.
What, you might be wondering, happened to the car after the ad was filmed? Skoda’s original plan was to cut it up and distribute it to local charities, schools and hospitals, but that had to be abandoned when it was realised that, after several days under hot studio lights, eating it would have posed a health and safety risk.
Some parts – for example the marzipan door mirrors and the chocolate speedometer – were saved. The rest was composted, and will be used by residents of Clapton in east London to fertilise their gardens and allotments
The best car advert ever,,,,,sweet.
Absolutely excellent advert – pleased to think that people will benefit from the
re-cycling…
Top yummmmmmmy car best advert ever. Its a bit sad to think it has ended up as compost though !!!!!
Very sad
Ive seen it loads of times and even now i have to stop what Im doing and watch it, what a brilliant ad, well done skoda.
benQ thank you for your information on the skoda cake, but who or which bakery made it?????
fantastic advert
I reckon it might just pass the safety test due to its ’sponge’ construction!
I’m a bit concerned about Golden Syrup being used in the engine, i can see scores of housewives topping up their engines with the stuff!
Do you kniw what thay did with the car after thay made it?…
THEY DUMPED IT! because the “light” made bacteria grow!
OMG! IM SO SAD!
What a fantastic advert, rates right up there with the Honda ad where the choir supply the sound effects. brilliant!!!!
it is quality in a jar, they should have the complete video of it to download i love it my wife wants to work for them making crazy cakes all day
I really hope it wasn’t wasted, that would make me mad :
The cake was supposed to be given to hospital’s, charites etc but after been under the studio lights for several days it posed a health and safety risk. Apart from a few things like the marzipan wing mirrors, the choclate speedometer and the wafer engine fan that were vacuum packed as a mementrom the rest was recycled and turned into compost. How sad i would have eaten some. 500 grand wasted
y u make a 500,000 cake car when there are people how are staving all over the world u tight people
ii Ate That Beast!
I just loved the skoda cake. Such a brilliant ad. I just wished i could of had a piece of it. Any chance of making some little cakes. I was wondering what had happened to it afterwards, thanks for letting me know.
i think this car is fab! it is fabulas how they made it all out of cake. when i first saw the avert i was wondering what they were making then i realized that it was a car made out of cake. i think if i made it on the advert a big chunk of the bonnet would be missing because i would of eaten it!!!!!!!!!!!!!xxxxxxxxxxxx
This shows you all the making of the cake http://www.newfabia.co.uk/
eat up
COOL!
Now im all for a little self gain in life, cos thats being human. But havent any of you got a conscience? typical rich company advertising something, and the typical blinkered people in this country saying “wow thats brilliant, how clever”. YOU MOORONS !! I wonder what some poor starvin kid or adult, in the lesser world would do if they could have the means to half of the ingredients to make that thing. As human beings we have a duty to stop and think of others less fortunate than ourselves. Skoda should be bloody ashamed of themselves. Oh and if some bull**** come out that they do so much for charity then that would make it all right dont you think !!! We all believe that we are more right than wrong dont we ? and because of that this text is wasting the energy used to send it, or is it ? For those with a brain please think of the less fortunate, and boycott Skoda or should I say VW. laters all.
what happend to the car after the advert was made
is the skoda sign made of icing because my m8 says it aint plz get back
i dont care if theres bacteria on it!!!i still want a big slice!!
well done bakers!!!!
