Sharp has announced a number of new TVs, 10 of them to be precise, with 4 of them having 3D capabilities. The 3D TVs have been called Quadtron and use LED technology to light the screen.
They come in a variety of sizes which includes the smallest being 40 inches going to to 46, 52 and a massive 60 inches. The LCD panels support a full HD resolution of 1080p as expected with new large TVs at the moment.
When launched the new Sharp Quadtron 3D LED TVs will be supplied with a pair of 3D shutter glasses although a couple of pairs or more would be more welcomed we feel as the asking prices for glasses goes in to the low triple digits.
Other features include dual TV tuners and USB recording. It is expected that the Quadtron LED TVs will go on sale at the end of July in Japan where prices will start at $3,200 for the smaller 40 inch model. It isn't clear if we will see these screens around this side of the world, or if a slightly different variation of screens will be launched here.
