Just a week or so ago we mentioned that ASUS were launching the ASUS Eee 1001PX netbook computer in two variants.
We now hear that the netbook is heading to Europe for launch. The ASUS 1001PX is an update to the previous ASUS 1001P model. The PX ads a carbon fiber styled lid and drops the glossy screen for a matte look instead making it easier on the eyes when light bounces off it.
Specifications show that the 1001PX has a 10.1 inch screen (no surprise there) that is backlit by LED and runs at a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels. Powering the device is an Intel Atom N450 processor running at 1.66GHz. 1GB of RAM can be found inside. For graphics the 1001PX has the standard Intel GMA 3150 graphics chip set. [click to continue…]

The PortaCruiser is a black device that has an LCD dot matrix screen in the middle and two hard drive docks, one on each side of the screen. The built in duplication software allows you to copy 2.5 inch and 3.5 inch hard drives for backup or replacement purposes. [click to continue…]
If you want to connect your eSATA drive up to your PC via a USB 3.0 port then this cable will do this for you.
The cable is called the SIIG USB 3.0 to eSATA adapter and allows eSATA drives to connect up to a USB 3.0 port on your computer to transfer data at up to speed of 3GB/s.
To get it working you'll need to have your own eSATA cable to hook up your drive, but from what we understand there is enough power provided by the USB 3.0 port to keep your eSATA drive powered meaning no external power source will be needed. [click to continue…]

Keeping data on an external hard drive is all good except at the point the drive gets stolen. The thief only needs to hook up the drive to his laptop and copy all the data he wants. The CRU DataPort 10 Secure aims to tackle the problem of data theft by using hardware encryption on the drive.
By using hardware based encryption the process of encrypting data is invisible to users. AES 128 encryption is used that provides military grade encryption on all data stored on the external drive.
Included in the box is the unit it's self along with a PSU, power-lead, USB cable, eSATA cable and three physical encryption keys of course along with all the manuals and a CD that you will need to configure the drive. [click to continue…]
