A rumour started today indicates that Google [GOOG] is working on creating a 7 inch tablet... perhaps a Nexus Tablet to be more precise. Although this is a rumour, it probably isn't far from the truth. The problem with Android tablets is that none of them have really taken off. We haven't included the Kindle Fire when making that statement, but it is an Android tablet but completely customised to feel different. This of course could mean that Amazon is winning the Android race. Either way, Google is lagging behind and needs to do something about it.

Hackers have managed to extract the Silk browser from the Amazon Kindle Fire and port it over to various rooted Android devices. The Silk browser is Amazons attempt to speed up web browsing. It works by calculating some elements of a webpage server side which speeds up processing time. It also attempts to predict what links you will click on so that your next page will be already calculated and ready to download when you want to go to it.

RedmondPie is reporting that some users are seeing issues with some apps running a little slow on the Galaxy Nexus. Of course, the Galaxy Nexus doesn't lack the power as it's a relatively new device running the latest operating system from Google, Ice Cream Sandwich or Android 4.0. Rather than being a hardware issue, it seems that some of the older apps just aren't quite optimised for Ice Cream Sandwich. Luckily there's a small work around which should help speed things up a little.

iPhone hacker Joshua Hill AKA @p0sixninja has commented on Twitter that 2012 is going to be a good year for jailbreaking. He also mentioned that all people (except unlockers) should quickly update to iOS 5.0.1 and then went on to say "Yes including A5 devices...". This leaves a strong hint that both the iPhone 4S and the iPad 2 will soon be jailbroke.

Google has paused the Nexus S Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update due to a few bugs found within. Problems found by those who have updated include issues with battery life, overheating and slow responses on the device.

We have been informed that the Samsung Galaxy Nexus on the Verizon network will not support Google Wallet. At first it was belived to be an issue with Verizon blocking it due to their own contactless payment system, but in a statement released today Verizon [VZ] has confirmed that this isn't the case.

An authorised Verizon retailer has indicated that the Verizon Galaxy Nexus release date will be Friday December 9. According to an email with a PDF attached, authorised Verizon retailers will be getting the Galaxy Nexus shipped today ready to be put on sale this coming Friday.

Samsung has managed to have the decision overturned which originally prevented the company from selling the Samsung Galaxy Tab in Australia. The reason the company was prevented selling the tablet was due to the court cases with Apple.

iFixit managed to get hold of a Galaxy Nexus early thanks to someone in the UK. In the US the new smartphone hasn't even launched yet.

As always, iFixit has taken the device apart to see what it looks like inside and also to look at what chip numbers are used as well as determine how easy the new device is to repair.

Google has confirmed that it is about to begin pushing out an update for Samsung Galaxy Nexus owners. The update is a fix for the volume bug which sees the device in some cases have rapid volume changes while trying to use the phone.

When iOS 5.1 was released to developers yesterday, a few details were found within the new firmware. Amongst the iPhone 5 and iPad 3, Apple also makes mention of a new iPad 2 which is codenamed iPad2,4. It is believed that this version number is referencing an iPad 2 WiFi+3G for the Sprint network.

The Samsung Galaxy Nexus has an odd bug that causes the volume to go a little crazy on the device. This has made a number of people believe that it is a hardware fault with the rocker switch for volume. It appears now though that this problem is actually software and Google [GOOG] has confirmed that there's a fix on its way.
