iD to create iPhone Games
March 11, 2008
Now that the iPhone and iPod Touch have been opened up a little more, companies are starting to show support for the platform. Various names such as EA and Sega have committed to developing for the device. The next in the list is iD software who are famous for Doom and Quake. Now that iD are on board I expect to see some amazing things happen with the iPhone and Touch.
“The iTunes distribution channel is really a more important aspect than a lot of people understand,” Carmack noted. “The ability to distribute larger applications than the over-the-air limits and effectively market your title with more than a dozen character deck name, combined with the reasonable income split make this look like a very interesting market.”

Naja King - Weird iPhone Stand
March 10, 2008
There are only a few portable media device holders available that I can think of. The Naja King takes the title of being the weirdest but cool one of them all. It is basically a stand that holds either an iPhone or iPod Touch. The holder can be rotated 90 degrees allowing you to view images or movies in wide screen format. The stand is a 3 foot long flexible coil that can form weird shapes to hold the iPod in place. The stand can also coil up quite small to make it more apt for being moved around while traveling.
Features
The Naja King costs $40 and is available here.

Apple Patent - Illuminated Touch Pad for Visual Feedback
January 25, 2008
A Patent for Apple was filed August last year and approved yesterday. The patent is for an Illuminated Touch Pad which appears that the light panel will be capable of emitting light in localized areas of the input surface. What this means is basically visual feed back which when you touch the scroll wheel on an iPod, the touch wheel will light up under your finger to visually show what just happened with the light actually following your finger around the dial. As well as the touch wheel being illuminated, the button in the middle will also light up too to show the actions on what it is doing.
