There are a few things that don’t currently work which includes Bluetooth, GPS and a few other things, but generally it works well and allows Android to run quite smoothly on the device. Features that are seen working in the video Pocket Now created (embedded below) show calls being made, text messages being sent and received as well as the browser functioning with the data connection. All apps that were loaded on to it worked well although a couple were a little laggy, but not far from being fixed. [click to continue…]

HTC Espresso Sense UI Captured on Camera

by Matthew on December 28, 2009

HTC Espresso Screen 1.png 300x224 HTC Espresso Sense UI Captured on CameraA few days ago we mentioned the HTC Espresso was spied with some updated Sense UI features. The images of the ROM showed some new buttons that had translucent backgrounds along with a bit more integration with contacts.

A video has now been revealed showing the ROM in action that is running on a HTC Hero. Although it does look like quite a nice ROM the main problems I see on the video is the lack of response to the user touching the screen and a bit of lag with things loading up. One thing to note though is that it is running on different hardware to what it was designed to run on, so perhaps with some tweaks to the ROM things will function at a decent speed. o2 htc hd2 300x224 HTC HD2 Availble for Free on Some O2 TariffsThe HTC HD2 was recently launched on to the Vodafone network in the UK costing nothing on a £35/month plan and above. O2 have now started selling the HD2 and offering it for free, but for £45 on their network. The contract might be £10/month more expensive, but the more expensive contract only ties you down to 18 months rather than the 24 months of the Vodafone contract.

The phone it’s self has a very large 4.3 inch touchscreen and the HD2 runs the Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system that runs HTC’s own custom Sense UI which actually makes WM6.5 quite good from what reports say. [click to continue…]

The 35/month 2 year contract also entitles you to 900 minutes of free calls to landlines and other mobile networks along with unlimited internet access.

The main feature of the HTC HD2 is that it has a large 4.3 inch capacitive touchscreen along with a 1GHz SnapDragon processor that allows it to work very smoothly. HTC decided to go with Windows Mobile 6.5 on the HD2 although they also have installed the HTC Sense UI hiding some of the frustrations that Windows Phone operating systems bring.
