aXbo Sleep Phase Alarm Clock Review

by Matthew on September 19, 2009

aXbo Alarm Clock Light 300x200 aXbo Sleep Phase Alarm Clock ReviewWaking up in the morning is perhaps one of the most annoying parts of the day. Nobody likes to wake up at the wrong time feeling like they just need that few minutes extra sleep. The aXbo Sleep Phase Alarm clock was designed to tackle that problem by analysing your sleep patterns through the night and waking you up at a time where you are not in the middle of a deep sleep. By waking up at the right time it prevents the groggy feeling you get sometimes in the morning.

We were given an aXbo alarm clock to test for a couple of weeks to see how it performs and if it works as well as it claims it does. In short, it seems to do what it says on the box in that each morning I woke up I never seemed to wake up in the middle of a deep sleep. Lets take a closer look though to see how it actually works and what it actually does to prevent the groggy mornings. [click to continue…]

hp dreamscreen real life 640 300x225 HP DreamScreen Advanced Digital PhotoframeThe HP DreamScreen is more than your average digital photoframe as it also connects with Facebook, lets you listen to Pandora radio, check the weather and more. Look at it as an interactive frame rather than a dull frame that shows slides of your last vacation.

Other features on the HP DreamScreen allow it to function as an alarm clock. It connects to your home network over a wireless connection so that sites such as Snapfish and Facebook can be used. Also, the wifi connection allows the frame to have images sent to and from your laptop or PC. [click to continue…]

USB Hub Alarm Clock

by Matthew on August 20, 2009

usb alarm clock 300x192 USB Hub Alarm ClockI really don’t get the point of the USB Hub Alarm Clock. I just don’t remember a time when an alarm clock woke me up and I had the sudden urge to connect up 4 USB devices to it… but I guess the creators have done their research and found there is a need for such a device. With it being an alarm clock you would expect it’s for the side of your bed, but as it’s a hub does it sit with your PC on the desk? If so, doesn’t your computer tell the time anyway? Confusing!

The USB Hub Alarm clock does actually look really good despite the strange part about the USB connectors. It has the ability to show you the time in 25 different cities around the world. [click to continue…]

Palm Pre gets webOS 1.0.2 Upgrade

by Matthew on June 8, 2009

palm pre webos upgrade Palm Pre gets webOS 1.0.2 UpgradeThe Palm Pre was launched this past weekend and new owners have been surprised to see that when the phone was switched on that an OTA (over the air) update to webOS 1.0.2 was ready for download. The update is a last minute release which is 67 meg in size and is ready to download over Sprint’s EVDO network.

New features in this small upgrade make the OS more stable as well as including a new alarm clock. The stability issues were found in some review units which apparently reset themselves wiping the phone clean and restoring from the Palm Pre original backup which isn’t good. Luckily as the phone does OTA upgrades it’s a simple fix if you have witnessed the problems. [click to continue…]

Verizon to get Samsung Alias 2

by Matthew on May 12, 2009

samsung alias 2 Verizon to get Samsung Alias 2Verizon have announced that they have launched the Samsung Alias 2. The Alias 2 is a dual hinged clamshell phone which has a unique keyboard that is actually E-Ink. The keyboard is QWERTY and with each key using E-Ink it can quickly transform in to a different layout. The overall effect is actually quite good and because e-ink doesn’t require much power to work (ie, only when changing the state) it doesn’t provide any major impact to the phones battery life. Wind Charm Alarm Clock

by Matthew on May 8, 2009

windchime alarm clock Wind Charm Alarm ClockThe Wind Chime Alarm Clock features 10 metal pipes that bump in to each other making a chiming noise. It’s a more of a gentle way to wake up rather then a sonic bomb clock that throws you out of bed.

The clock has both 12 and 24 hour modes, shows the date, has a stop watch function and 2 different alarm modes. The 2 choices of alarm modes are just a regular beep, or the wind chimes clattering against each other. [click to continue…]

Hanging Alarm Clock

by Matthew on December 17, 2008

hanging alarm clock Hanging Alarm ClockThe majority of alarm clocks just beep away and allow you to hit snooze and still sleep in. Over the last few years alarm clock makers have been getting more creative by creating loud explosions or by having the alarm clock run away. The Hanging Alarm Clock follows this pattern by running away from you “up towards the ceiling”. [click to continue…]
