gps collar Sat Nav Dog Collar The RetrievaWe live in a world full of gadgets these days. Gadgets can be put in to several categories such as useless, fun, life changing or essential to name a few. What you don’t come across is that many gadgets for your pet. This latest gadget is designed for your dog and benefits both you and your dog.

The Sat Nav Dog Collar is a gadget which fastens to your dog (no surprise there!) and keeps track of your beloved pets location. Should your dog run away one day, or be kidnapped then you should easily be able to track him and bring him back home. The system works by you setting an area in which the god is allowed to freely roam. If the dog steps out of this area a central server is contacted, a text message sent and with a mixture of GPS, telecoms and radio tracking your dog can easily and quickly be found. The Sat Nav Dog Collar is named the Retrieva and is built from anti-cut material to prevent dog thieves (who apparently exist) from tampering with the collar. Should the collar be tampered with you will also receive a text message with the location of the collar. The Retrieva is powered by a battery that can be recharged and the collar can also alert you when the battery needs to be charged. The battery life is around 3 weeks per charge when used in basic mode.

The Retrieva is just one product in the range and it is possible to use the same technology to track any object you own such as a laptop, car or even your kids if you so wish. If you do not want to fork out the initial cost (price to be confirmed) then there are leasing options available with 12 month contracts.

This is a brilliant use of the technology. Especially now as in the UK a new directive prohibits the use of RF collars that give a mild electric shock when a dog appoaches a set boundary.
