Samsung SL630 Announced

Samsung have announced another digital camera. This time it's the Samsung SL630 that has a 12.2 megapixel sensor along with a 28mm wide-angle lens capable of zooming up to 5 time optical.

The camera is quite small in size and measures 0.8 inches thick. Features on the SL630 include dual image stabilization, video capture up to a resolution of 640 x 480 pixels at 30 frames per second as well as a bunch of auto modes to capture the best show while leaving the camera to do the majority of the work.

The other advanced feature on the camera is a mode called Perfect Portrait System that has a number of regular features such as face detection along with smile, blink detection and beauty shots.

Other features include a 2.7 inch LCD screen that displays 230K pixels. The camera is scheduled for a launch in March although the exact dates and prices are not known. With it being an entry level camera with no HD capabilities I'd expect it to fall perhaps below the $200 mark.

Update: TFTS mention the camera is to be priced at £130 in the UK which is about $201 when converted to USD. I guess that when launched in the US it will probably drop to $175 or slightly less.
