Samsung are launching the HMX-U10 YouTube camcorder to the market that can record video at HD 1080p resolutions. That gives it a pixel resolution of 1920×1080 H.264 that is captured from a 10 megapixel sensor.
A fixed focus lens is included in the camera that measures 1/2.3″ that is sufficient for capturing video in average lighting conditions. However, it won’t capture in low light conditions and it also won’t do extreme close-ups.
The Samsung HD YouTube camera has a Li-ion battery that can be charged either by USB or AC. Storage wise, it uses SDHC cards that can have a capacity up to 32GB if needed. It is expected that the camera will launch for under $200 when launched in September.
There is no mention of extra features built in such as the needed anti-shake which is desirable.
