Samsung announced a new smartphone today called the Samsung Galaxy Spica i5700. The phone is Google [GOOG] android based and runs with an 800MHz processor. Although not quite the speed of the Snapdragon processors running at 1GHz it’s still a bump up from other android based phones that tend to run a little slower.
The Samsung Galaxy comes with a 3.5mm headphone jack so that standard head/ear phones can be attached for listening to music. Power is provided by a 1500mAh battery and the phone measures 13.2mm in thickness making it fairly slim.
With the phone being Android based we can expect the usual array of services from Google including Search, Voice Search, Maps, GMail, YouTube and Google Talk along with other standard apps plus access to the Android Market place.
According to the press release, the Samsung Galaxy Spica i5700 is available now in Europe.
