Samsung has announced that it will be bringing Facebook and Google Maps to the TV. The services will become available on Samsung Apps which is a system devised to bring web content to their range of TV's.
'The addition of Google Maps and Facebook to Samsung Apps shows our commitment to providing quality content and applications across multiple devices and expanding the connected TV experience for our consumers, said Eric Anderson, vice president of content and product solutions, Samsung Electronics America. 'Now, users can enjoy leading location-based and social services directly on their connected TV, Blu-ray player, or Blu-ray Home Theater system.
The two new services join around 30 other services which includes the likes of Blockbuster, Netflix, Pandora and Twitter to name a few.
It is unclear when the services will launch, but we expect them to arrive on Samsung Apps compatible TVs shortly.
