Last week Sony released the 3.21 PS3 Firmware that for fat older PS3 models, got rid of the Other OS option. For those who didn't want to get rid of this functionality it required that you not upgrade to the new firmware which could cause further restrictions down the line.
Here in the UK, one particular PS3 owner cited some European law to Amazon who in return gave him a partial refund of £84 for the service being taken away.

It's an interesting case probably which wont gain much traction although if many do start to make claims against Amazon and other retailers, a claim from the retailers to Sony could potentially be made. PS University also mention that you are eligible regardless of if you use the Other OS feature or not.
