Philips have introduced a nice concept which is a table top gaming platform. It is a great idea and if the price is right, I can see it doing fairly well. It takes the element of a fun board game and mixes real playing peices in to a desk top horizontal LCD display which measures 32 inch. The LCD screen is touch sensative and allows you to move peices around a board which can have animation, video or what ever the game is made to do. It ads the old school fun of a board game in to todays technology which is bound to get a few happy followers.
The target currently is the public market to make social gaming more fun, but it could hit the consumers soon after if it proves to be popular.
