Personal tracker devices are very handy devices to have for a number of reasons. The main one being for safety and being able to track individuals around the globe. This personal tracker device from Gemtek combines GPS with mobile phone communications over the GSM network and can be set to transmit its exact co-ordinates. The device is about half the size of a deck of playing cards and can be attached to a bag, put in your pocket and used while out on the road. Heck, I guess you could even track a friend if you were really that paranoid.
There are a few ways to get data of it’s whereabouts. The first is via Gemteks website in which you log in and request its location. The same can be done but via a phone service that Gemtek have. Another feature is the SOS button which will send an alert to a number of recipients so that they know where you are should you get in to an emergency. Also a boundary alert option is available where you specify a safety zone and when leaving that area it will send an alert. The device is battery powered and will last 22 hours.
It will set you back $299.95 for the device and then there are subscription options available for $19.95/Month, $29.95/Month and $39.95/Month which each offer more units of time for alerts from what I gather.
To be honest, at the price that it is selling for it is probably ideal for those who need it for a specific use in a specialised area. But for the average person I think it is best skipping past this one.
