Pentop Computer from Fly Fusion
June 30, 2008
As time moves on, technology progresses and becomes smaller, unique and merges with other technology. The latest item to be converted in to something else is the average Pen… but this time it has a computer built in and is now named the Pentop Computer. The Pentop is built by Fly Fusion and has a ton of features built in which transform the average pen in to something cool.
The Pentop Computer costs just $80 and is used with regular paper at your desk. What you do is just write as normal and then all your text is then digitized and stored in to memory. What you then do is sync the pentop with your computer at home and edit your assignments as normal. This first task it performs is not anything too new and I have seen digital pens before which translate pen movements in to text. However, what I have not seen before is the ability to download software to a pentop computer. With the Fly Fusion you can download software based on different subjects. If you take the language software as an example, what the pen will do is translate anything you write in English and convert it to Spanish, French etc… Mathematical equations can also be performed with this pen with another piece of software. All around it’s a flippin smart pen to carry in your pocket. When you get bored you can also switch on the built in MP3 player to help you relax more, although I doubt they will allow that (or the whole Pentop computer) in an exam.
Other applications include calculators and music studio which you can tap on a printed music keyboard and make sounds that way.
Below are a few videos showing the features which the Pentop from Fly Fusion include.
