PayPal shared its Black Friday details to the world and has indicated that this year, transactions were up 27 percent when compared to numbers from BlackFriday 2009.
As well as seeing a general increase of 27 percent, PayPal also indicates that a lot of the payments were thanks to mobile devices. Mobile shopping saw a 310% growth when compared to last years numbers.
The official shopping season, according to PayPal, started on November 15th. Also, spending amounts on BlackFriday were up 19 percent when compared to a normal Friday this year.
Overall, theres some quite impressive increases this year. To put the size of PayPal in to perspective here, we see that they have a 16.5% market share of all US online payments and 15% of global transactions.
