panasonicplasmacell Panasonic to Use Plasma ScreensPlasma screens tend to belong in your home attached to a wall. Not any more. Panasonic in association with AbleComm have announced that a new phone will be created using a plasma screen rather then an LCD display. LCD’s have been used in phones for a number of years now, so the use of a plasma screen is going to be a change.

The benefits of using Plasma over LCD are first, only 1.5 volts are needed to operate the screen and the screen requires no special wiring or power supply. By using plasma the screen’s in phones will have more contrast and have a brighter image in comparison to LCD version.
